Tricks for Boosting Your Psychic Senses

We all have the ability to be psychic and receive information that doesn't come from our 5 senses. Some of us have a natural psychic ability and others need to practice to develop our psychic senses. Our Psychic Development ebook can help with exercises to practice that will help expand the psychic senses and develop the skills needed to awaken psychic abilities. One of the first things to do in awakening the extra senses used as psychic abilities is to get in touch with your inner silence so that you will be able to hear information the Universe sends you. One exercise to get you started on preparing your senses to receive information is through meditation.

There are many ways and forms that meditation can take. For the purposes of developing psychic senses, meditation allows you to create enough quiet space and silence in your life so that you will be in a position to hear the messages sent by the Universe and from divination techniques. Meditate a little bit every day to start developing these skills. Here is an exercise you can use if you don't already have an active meditation practice.

  • For at least 15 minutes, sit in a comfortable position with closed eyes, hands in your lap with right hand cradled in the left. 
  • While you are aware of your thoughts, remain unattached from them. Be aware especially of your sensations. 
  • If you have trouble relaxing, try having a lit candle to center your concentration, burn soothing incense or sit near a running fountain. 
  • Now begin feeling your natural breathing as the breath moves in and out of your body. Don't force your breathing or change it any way, just feel and be aware of your body's own natural breaths. 
  • As you become aware of thoughts popping up in your mind, let them pass through without focusing your attention on them. Think of this as sitting on a shoreline watching boats pass by. If you find your attention drawn to one in particular, simply return your focus to your breathing and let the thought pass by.

After at least 15 minutes of sitting in this manner you can get up and end your meditation time. Don't dwell on what happened during the meditation, or how successful you feel it was or if you had any revelations or not. The only importance is the consistency with which you do your meditation and the effort put towards doing it. Doing short meditations daily for instance will serve you better in the long run than doing longer meditations occasionally. Consistency is a key element. You will find over time that consistently doing this exercise will increase your ability to have inner silence and take it with you throughout everything you do. Your time spent in meditation should be an enjoyable time for you as it is time you are devoting to your inner development and the more you develop your inner life, the more benefits you will see in your outer life.

Reading Other People
Another set of exercises you'll find in our Psychic Development ebook is on the topic of reading other people or learning to gather information about others that you cannot get through the traditional 5 senses. Here is one of the exercises in this area that you can practice by broadening your view of someone. This helps you understand the other person's motivation for behaviors or attitudes they display and can give you insight into the best way to deal with them. 

Look up and down the other person's entire body and aura. Notice for example if their hands or feet are still or agitatedly moving. Notice if their breathing is fast, slow, shallow or wheezing. Look at the tongue and see if it is red which would mean too much fire energy, pale and wet which could mean a deficiency or internal coldness, if it is swollen and puffy and has teeth marks on the edges which would indicate a weak spleen and kidney yang, if it is stiff and wooden-like with a blunt front which would mean they are emotionally shut down or if it is quivering with a red tip which would indicate nervous anxiety in the neural system. Look at their eyes to see if they dart about, look at you, look through you or move up and left or down and right. What is their posture like? Is it erect, flexible, stiff, slumped or weak? As you notice all these type of conditions, begin to build up a vocabulary of relationships between body language and inner causes and conditions. Use your own states and meanings to consider what the types of things you notice mean. As you start training yourself to notice these types of behaviors in others and putting meanings to them, your mind will start working from your own Spirit perceptics or psychic senses and gather information from others. Once you have practiced this type of information gathering for a while, if there is something in particular you want to know about another, your psychic senses will kick in and get the answer for you.

With some practice in exercises such as these, you can start gathering information from the Universe, through divination techniques and through your own innate psychic senses. So don't worry if you haven't shown any psychic talents before. All it takes is waking up those senses that live inside your inner wisdom.

3 Ways to Take Your Magic to the Next Level

Consistency adds magical force and a great way to bring consistency to your magical practice is to engage in daily rituals. Daily rituals can include practices such as your morning yoga practice, meditation, working with spirit guides like angels or the spirit of owl, or doing the Day Greeting of the Navajo Beauty Way. Just about any magical operation can be used as a daily ritual and by doing it every day for at least 40 days you can create the "habit" of making magic an integral part of your life. These magic rituals could be contact rituals that will help you develop a working relationship with the Universe, rituals that give guidance on solving a problem you feel you are unable to solve by yourself, a healing ritual working on a particular health condition you have or just a time to experience your inner silence. The important thing is that you pick a ritual and do it every day to develop consistency. Creating this magical force inside yourself means that force will be available to you when you want to do an act of magic.

Three Ways to Put Your Best Magical Foot Forward

Here are three ideas for "magical" Wheaties to start your day off right with magic. You'll find these and much more in our Daily Rituals for Attracting What you Want in Life ebook.
1. Pick a card of the day from a deck of Medicine Cards or Angel Cards
2. Go outside and do Day Greetings (and Endings) from the Navajo Beauty Way
3. Hire an angel to solve possible tricky issues in your coming day

Pick a Magical Card
Take a deck of Medicine cards, Angel cards, Tarot cards or any other kind of magical card deck. Spread the cards out and move your output hand over them feeling the energy from them. Find the card that "calls to you" or feels energetically warmer or tingly to you and pick it from the deck. If you don't have your own deck of some type of magical cards, make one yourself. You might make cards with words and concepts like love, peace, joy, gratitude, etc... Or you can use a book or magazine and open it to any page, picking the first word or picture that jumps off the page at you. Your own need and the Universe's clever forms of communicating will help you select exactly what you need to hear. Whatever card, word or image you select will be your theme for the day. If you used a card, look up the meaning of the card and see what guidance, knowledge, or information it has to offer you for the day. Then watch throughout the day for messages from the Universe that correspond to your theme. The Universe is always sending us messages and has assistance waiting for us or something that we can learn. Throughout the day remain conscious of the message or theme and watch for how it applies to your interactions with others, your internal thoughts and patterns and the situations you encounter. This simple ritual done daily helps you to operate from a place of consciousness rather than from mechanical reactions and habits, builds your relationship with the Universe and actively brings magic into your life.

Magically Greet the Day
One part of doing the Navajo Beauty Way is to do Day Greetings. This is a ritual from ancient times that is non-denominational and can create powerful, positive effects in your life. It is a contact ritual that helps you establish a relationship with the Winds of the four directions, Sky Father and Earth Mother. Doing Day Greetings on a daily basis can help you in restoring personal power by the development of trust in your own wisdom gained by personal experience, enhance your creative flow and connection with the environment and the laws and forces of nature, aid you in observing and maintaining harmonious inner states, restore your inner and external balances, and develop a working relationship with higher powers and beings. Hire An Angel
We all run into frustrations, irritations and sticky situations in our daily lives from being stuck in traffic to running late for a meeting. This is when hiring an angel can help us change the situation into one that works out alright, help us avoid going into negative states, and allows us to introduce magic into our situation and day. There are angels to help with literally anything you need help with and they are just waiting to be asked. By helping humans they are able to move to the next level of their evolution, but they can't help until they are asked. Angels also can't go against your will, so be sure that what you are asking for is something you are willing to receive. For example, if you are asking for help getting a job, but in your mind you are repeating negative thoughts about how you can't possibly get the job, the angel will not be able to get past your negative will and certainty that you can't get it. You can however get around this by first asking for an angel to help you stop thinking negative thoughts about getting a job and then ask a second angel to help with getting a job. To bring angels into your life and request their help all you have to do is:

1. Say either out loud or in your mind, "Angel expert in ___ [traffic, travel, in-laws, bosses, etc..], please come to my aid."
2. Pause quietly for a few seconds until you feel a presence.
3. Give specific instructions for what you need or want done and thank the angel.
4. After the situation is over or you have received the help you asked for, thank the angel a second time. It is important to show gratitude in advance and after the fact.

There you have it, three simple ways to get your day off to a good start with magic. Give it a try and see what happens for you once you start introducing magic into your life. Practice daily rituals for several weeks and then stop for a week or two. This may make it even more obvious to you how magical rituals have been at work in your life and magically enhance it.

Magic in Action – These Unbelievable Stories are For Real!

Magic is real and while we encourage each person to explore this for themselves we'd like to give you some examples of what others have discovered when it comes to magic. Here are some stories from students in our Basic Magic classes to give you an idea of how others have found to apply their magical training to their everyday lives.

There is the student who used the pendulum and the Tarot to help introduce his friend to a spirit living in his house and helping them establish a relationship that lead to the spirit being saving his friend's life. Then there is Mike who was able to ground out his fire energy anger to avoid a fight with his wife and Devta who used a Tarot spell to help a friend heal the rift in her family that centered around the co-ownership of a family farm business. Real Life Magic
Once you jump into the world of real magic, you'll find all sorts of amazing ways to use magic in your life. Some of the ways to do this could include:

  • being able to stabilize your moods and energy levels by balancing your elemental energies

  • use magical techniques to protect yourself from physical or psychic attack and to protect your property and sacred space

Under Attack? Magical Methods of Self Defense

When it comes to using magical self defense there are a multitude of ways to protect yourself. Whether the attack is physical, psychic, verbal or just an invasion of your sacred space, you have the right to use magical means for protection as long as you stay within the self defense rules . In our online Magical Self Defense course you'll learn all about these rules as well as magic techniques such as grounding out fire energy, flowing fire energy, rooting and grounding, hand lightning, fireballs, shields and sonics for self defense. Just to peak your interest, let's look at one of these protection magic techniques – Grounding.

Grounding for Self Defense
Grounding is an especially good technique to use when you are in a routy crowd, find yourself dealing with a chatty neighbor invading your sacred silence, surrounded by anxiety that is contagious, or facing any aggression or anger from another. All of these situations involve fire energy and by grounding you are pulling excess fire energy from another person or the environment, flowing it through your body and pushing it into an electrical ground. Next time you find yourself in this type of situation, try this.

1. Concentrate on the behavior being expressed to access the excess of fire energy, ie. – noise, anger...

2. Identify a safe ground in the area for fire energy such as an electrical outlet, light switch, power lines or you can use a sink since the water pipes run into the earth. Do not use delicate electronic equipment like a computer or TV since these may short out from added fire energy.

3. Prepare to pull the excess fire energy by either putting your output hand or foot on the ground you have located or by extending your output hand toward the ground. Make sure there are no living beings between you and the ground you will be using as you don't want to flow the excess fire energy into them. If you are dealing with a situation that you are uncomfortable being obvious about what you are doing, you can very subtly direct your hand in the direction of the ground.

4. Begin pulling the excess fire energy that you have identified in through your input hand. You can access it by looking at a color source that corresponds to the energy such as red-orange for anger or aggression or yellow-orange for anxiety or you can access it from the behavior such as noise.

5. Pull the energy in through your input hand, through your body and out of your output hand into the ground that you have selected. If there are a combination of fire energies, you may have to keep switching color bands to pull all the excess fire. If you do not have your output hand available in your situation, you can flow the energy down and out through your foot.

6. Continue pulling until the noise, anger or aggression has diminished. This should only take a couple of minutes at most as most people will find it difficult to keep up their high fire energy levels once you start pulling and grounding it.

7. Be sure that you continue flowing energy into the ground through your output hand after you stop pulling it through your input hand. You want to make sure you are not taking on that excess fire by not flowing it out of your body.

If you are in a crowd and find you are dealing with a lot of excess fire energy, you can use the rooting technique along with the grounding technique. This allows you to have two energy grounds, your roots for one and the electrical ground for the other and you'll find you can pull larger amounts of fire energy this way.
