How to Reboot Your Magical Practice

Is your magical practice feeling stale, or are you not finding the time to devote to it every day? You can reboot your practice and get back that feeling of excitement you had when you first started by using daily rituals with consistency. Daily rituals can be a simple and easy way to add some magic into your day and the key to their success is consistency. Spiritually speaking, doing a ritual the same time everyday can increase the level and quality of connecting with the higher. Some rituals are designed to be done in the morning and others in the evening and some can be done at any time and whenever needed. Daily rituals help open a doorway to the higher, refresh your connection to magic, and are simple to do so they work into your busy schedule easily. What ritual you do is not as important in achieving this as doing it daily. Consistency creates more force, so a simple ritual done daily brings you as much or more than doing a complex ritual or spell sporadically.

Just Do It

Now that you know how to reboot your magical practice, you just need to pick a daily ritual that is simple enough to fit into your day, make the commitment to do it every day and just do it. Developing a Magickal Practice

Our last newsletter article gave you several daily rituals to explore using to invite magick into your life and discover your own magickal pathway. I hope you have had time to try at least one of these out by now. If not, no worries, you can get started anytime you are ready, but of course there is no time like the present and really you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by getting started. Keep in mind that the more you pay into your magickal practice the more you will get out of it. In other words, the more consistent you are with your practice, the more results you will see. No matter which of the rituals you picked, aim for doing it each day for 40 days in a row. This will help you develop consistency in your practice. Although the goal is to practice your ritual 40 days in a row that is merely the goal to go towards. The consistency comes from the journey on your magickal path. Here's the part that really helps you develop consistency: If you miss a day when aiming for your 40 days, you must start over at day 1. I don't know anyone that has not had to start over at day 1 so don't beat yourself up when it happens. Just know it is all part of the process.

Just to make all this even easier for you and give you the simplest magickal exercise to practice aiming for 40 days in a row, here's the Consistency Exercise.

1. Choose a very simple act (ie. – touching your nose or making a mark on a paper)

2. Pick the time of day that you will do your act every day.

3. When the time you have chosen comes, do the simple act. Do it every day at the same time for 40 days in a row.

4. If you miss a day during your 40 days, which you almost certainly will, you must begin your 40 days over at day 1. Even if you are at day 39 and miss the next day, you start over at 1.

5. Remind yourself the important thing is to do the exercise, not accomplish the goal, so do not berate yourself when you end up missing a day and have to start over.

This exercise works as an act of intention which makes it a magickal act and by choosing a simple intentional act to do every day at the same time then consciously doing it you are able to:
  • increase the level and quality of your connection to the higher
  • bring yourself back to present time
  • invite magick in to be a part of your everyday life
  • build your inner force
  • become more comfortable with practicing your magickal skills in public
  • make changes to your habitual thought patterns.

Try the Consistency Exercise for yourself and keep it going. Then use the same principle using some of the other daily rituals we've presented you. Remember, what you pay into your practice will pay you back in unexpected ways. 2 Simple Magical Rituals that Enhance Any Magical Procedure

The more magic you have in your life, the more powerful the magical rituals you do will be. By adding two C's to your daily magical practice, you can increase your connection to higher beings and powers, boost your supply of positive power, and increase your ability to hear your own inner guidance and follow it. What are these magical two C's? Consistency and Conscious Choice!

Consistency
Your connection with the higher can be enhanced by doing a ritual at the same time every day. In terms of any relationship, which is stronger; one you have contact with every day or someone you seldom have contact with? Usually family, spouse, close friends, and co-workers are the people you have consistent contact with and those are the people that are a big part of your life and that you know you can count on. Those you seldom have contact with fall more in the category of acquaintances or distant friends. They don't have much influence over your day to day life. It works the same way with higher powers and beings. The more consistent contact you have with them, the more you know you can count on them. One daily ritual that helps develop more consistency in your life and that can enhance your magic practice is the Consistency Exercise. Since magically speaking, it takes 40 days of consistency to manifest a desired outcome, the secret to success with this exercise is to work towards doing it for 40 days in a row. I say work towards that goal because even though this is a very, very simple exercise to perform, it is very hard to reach the 40 days in a row goal. As you do this exercise, just remember that it is the journey towards and the striving to that are most important. Berating yourself for missing a day, which in this exercise means you start over at day one, is not helpful and will not help you build force. If you miss a day, you simply start over at day one and work again towards the 40 day goal. Here's how you do this very simple ritual.

1. Choose a very simple act that you will do every day. And I do mean SIMPLE! It might be making a mark on a piece of paper, touching your nose with your index finger, saying a particular word out loud or any one of thousands of other simple, simple acts.

2. Choose an exact time that you will do this act every day. Make it a time that you will be likely to remember easily. If you are constantly on the go with a demanding job, then don't pick a time at work. You might want to pick a time when you know you will be sitting down for a cup of coffee or a break in the day. Consider your schedule and pick a time that will work best for you to be the most successful.

3. Now that you have chosen your simple act and a time you will do it each day, do it. Yes, it's really that simple. If you miss a day though, you have to start over at Day 1. Even if you make it to Day 38 and then forget the next day, you start over at Day 1.

Making it to the 40 day mark, you will find, is the trickier part of this exercise, but it is what really develops the consistency. When you miss a day (and I've never known anyone that didn't), just know it is all part of the process and you're getting even more practice at consistency. You will also gain insight into how mechanical our lives are for the most part and see how important it is to step out of this mechanicalness and into consciousness.

Conscious Choice
Doing this exercise at the same time as the Consistency Exercise helps you generate a lot of positive power that can be used for manifesting. The Consistency Exercise was geared towards developing focused aim. The Conscious Choice exercise gives you practice listening to your own inner guidance and wisdom and following it. For this exercise you will stop at anytime during the day, everyday, and make a conscious choice. Start with small, trivial choices such as what color socks to wear, whether to go for a walk or relax and read a book, or what to eat for breakfast. Then follow these steps.

1. Either out loud or silently, say to yourself, "I will now make a conscious choice."

2. Ask yourself the choice question now. "Do I choose to relax and read a book or go for a walk?" The question might also be "What do I choose to do right now?"

3. Take a moment to be silent and listen to your inner self. The first answer that comes to you is what you must do.

4. Do this exercise each day for 40 days. Just like with the Consistency Exercise, if you miss a day, you start over at Day 1.

We say start with trivial choices because you are just learning to listen and trust your inner guidance. In that process it really won't matter too much if you have oatmeal instead of eggs for breakfast. By practicing with these small, less important choices, you'll be able to develop your inner voice and learn to trust your own inner wisdom. That way when bigger life choices come along, you'll have the experience of accessing your own inner wisdom as well as the consistent relationship with the Universe to draw on for help in making the right decisions for you.

3 Ways to Take Your Magic to the Next Level

Consistency adds magical force and a great way to bring consistency to your magical practice is to engage in daily rituals. Daily rituals can include practices such as your morning yoga practice, meditation, working with spirit guides like angels or the spirit of owl, or doing the Day Greeting of the Navajo Beauty Way. Just about any magical operation can be used as a daily ritual and by doing it every day for at least 40 days you can create the "habit" of making magic an integral part of your life. These magic rituals could be contact rituals that will help you develop a working relationship with the Universe, rituals that give guidance on solving a problem you feel you are unable to solve by yourself, a healing ritual working on a particular health condition you have or just a time to experience your inner silence. The important thing is that you pick a ritual and do it every day to develop consistency. Creating this magical force inside yourself means that force will be available to you when you want to do an act of magic.

How to Reap the Benefits of a Daily Magical Practice

Having a daily magical practice can pay off in big ways. When you develop consistency in your magic you reap the benefits in your daily life by building magical force inside yourself to have available when you want to do an act of magic. Daily rituals are a good way to add consistency into your practice, especially ones that connect you to the Universe, with thanks before and after. These types of daily rituals help you build a working relationship with the Universe so that when you ask for help with a magical act, it is available to you. Magical Acts
Since any act of intention is a magical act, another way to bring consistency into your magical practice is by using the Consistency Exercise. With this magic exercise you choose a very simple intentional act to do every day at the same time and consciously do it. This exercise helps increase the level and quality of your connection to the higher, brings you back to present time, invites magic in to be a part of your everyday life, helps you build inner force, gets you more comfortable with practicing your magical skills in public and helps in changing your habitual thought patterns. For most people there is a high level of energy and excitement when initially setting a goal or embarking on a new goal, but this energy level dwindles as we get tied up with other things. Introducing consistency into your life can help keep that energy level up to help you make life changes. It can take 40 days to make a change which is why doing the Consistency Exercise is a good tool for giving you practice at developing skills to create change in your life as well as the opportunity to make magic an integral part of your life.

The Consistency Exercise
The first step for this magical exercise is to choose a simple act and we do mean SIMPLE. You could choose to make a mark on a piece of paper, touch your nose with your right thumb, snap your finger, scratch your ear, or any other really simple act that you can easily do where ever you are. Then you will choose a time to do this act each and every day. Consider your time carefully. For example, don't pick a time when you know you are at your very busiest part of the day. If you have kids to get off to school, pick a time after they are out the door. If you usually rush around getting ready for work in the mornings, don't pick that time of day, wait and choose a time you normally take a break at work. Pick a time that will not be a set-up for failure and that you will be more likely to remember to perform your act. You can also feel free to use notes to yourself or the alarm on your cell phone to remind yourself to do your act. That's not "cheating" as this is not an exercise in memory, just in developing consistency. Sounds simple so far, right? Well here's the catch. You must do this exercise of performing the intentional act you have chosen at the time you have chosen every day for 40 days in a row. If you miss a day, you must start over at day one. This can be frustrating for many, especially if you get to day 35 and then miss a day causing you start over at day 1, but stick with it and you will reap the benefits of finding acts of power take less effort, Law of Attraction kicks in more often for you and life in general just flows a bit better. This is because you are inviting magic into your life on a daily basis and increasing your magical force. Don't beat yourself up when you miss a day either. It's all a process and following the path has its own benefits no matter how long it takes to achieve the end goal. It is doing the exercise that is important, not the accomplishment of getting to the 40 days.

Now that you see all the benefits of developing a consistent magical practice, here's how to do the Consistency Exercise.

1. Choose your very simple act.

2. Pick the time of day that you will do your act every day.

3. When the time you have chosen comes, do the simple act. Do it every day at the same time for 40 days in a row.
