Personalize Your Magic to Make it One of a Kind – The Art of Cut and Fit

Once you get to really know certain magic daily rituals inside and out, you can start to personalize them. Magically, we call that cut and fit. Suppose the Navajo Beauty Way becomes a long term ritual for you. Once you have done it for a while, you can start to experiment with different greetings. This is one ritual that we start students off doing right away in Basic Magic and continue throughout. In that course you can see the progression of greetings as they have extra lines added to them. Here's an example of cut and fit using the Navajo Beauty Way ritual of Day Greetings and Day Endings.

Day Greetings and Day Endings
This magical ritual is done each morning and each evening. It creates a connection with higher beings to establish a relationship with them that will give you access to their guidance and help. The basic form of this ritual is as follows.

1. Go outside and face East holding your arms out in front of you with your palms facing towards each other.

2. Say out loud, "Winds of Knowledge (or Winds of the East), I bid you good morning (or good night)."

3. Lower your arms, turn clockwise to face the South, holding your arms out in front of you with palms facing downwards

3. Say out loud, "Winds of Power (or Winds of the South), I bid you good morning (or good night)."

4. Lower your arms, turn clockwise to face the West, holding your arms out in front of you with palms facing upwards.

5. Say out loud, "Winds of Feeling" (or Winds of the West), I bid you good morning (or good night)".

6. Lower your arms, turn clockwise to face the North, holding your arms out in front of you with palms facing forward (as in a "stop" motion).

7. Say out loud, "Winds of Strength" (or Winds of the North), I bid you good morning (or good night)."

8. Lower your arms, turn clockwise to face the East, holding your arms up in a V towards the sky.

9. Say out loud, "Sky Father, I bid you good morning (or good night)."

10. Still facing the East lower your arms keeping them in the V shape so that they are pointing downwards toward the ground.

11. Say out loud, "And Earth Mother, I bid you good morning (or good night)."

Cut and Fit
Now that you know how to do the basic form of the ritual, let's look at some examples of the type of additions you can make to enhance the greeting. Each enhanced form attracts or brings various insights and magic to your life. In our classes, students do a different form of the ritual for a week at a time and record their experiences and observations from each. Some additions that we have used in the greetings (after the higher beings name and before "I bid you...") include:

Starting My Path
Seeking Knowledge
In Knowing
Seeking Power
In Beauty
Walking in Beauty
With Interest
With Compassion
Seeking Flow
Walking in Strength
Walking in Balance
Walking in Harmony
With Intention
In Anticipation
In Fulfillment
With Compassion
Walking In Joy
Walking in Acceptance
With Clarity
In Willingness
Walking In Grace
In Awareness

Give it a try. This form of the Beauty Way can bring magic to your life in all sorts of amazing ways. After you do the basic form long enough to be comfortable doing it, start cutting and fitting using some of the additional lines and record your results. More than likely you will find that the form you choose to practice will bring you awareness of just what you are needing or looking for. It works out that way because it is truly well... magic. And if you are looking for more about the Beauty Way, its forms, and other daily contact rituals a great place to start is with our Kindle Books.

Let Us Light Your Magical Fire, or at Least Kindle It!

Kindle Ebooks are a great way to study magic. You can bring a ton of magical knowledge with you on your Kindle device, your smartphone, or your tablet. Or you can read any of our magical Kindle Ebooks on your desktop computer. You never need a Kindle device to read these inexpensive yet magically-filled ebooks. Check out our most popular series of Kindle books, Witchcraft Spell Books, and enjoy!

Kindle Books: Witchcraft Spell Books Series
Here's an example of what you'll find in the first book of this Kindle book series:

Book 1 - Learn How to Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells with Your Bare Hands
This book gives you a look at what witchcraft and real magic are and how developing a magical practice can benefit you. It also covers the Universal Laws that govern magical practice and how to develop a safe practice in accordance with these. You will also learn many rituals for establishing relationships with higher powers and beings and be given some magical techniques that you can start trying out right away for yourself such as the Bathtub Litany for relieving negativity and pain.

The Bathtub Litany: This ritual is effective for soothing all levels of pain, including physical inflammation and soreness, emotional frustration and anger, and repetitive mental thoughts that won't stop.

Fill the tub as full as possible with cool (just below body temperature) water, but not cold water. If the water is too cold it will create tension, and if the water is too hot it won't carry much Fire energy.

Lie back with your feet at the drain end and as much of your body as possible under the water. As you lie in the tub, picture your body as a glowing heating coil. This visualization will push Fire energy into the water, warming the water next to your skin. As you do so, the Fire energy will follow natural body flows.

Stir the water each time this visualization seems to warm the water next to your skin. After three or four "stirrings," open the tub drain and continue to lay back and radiate the Fire energies as the water level drops around you. Say this litany out loud in a voice of command as the water drains from the tub:

"All the tension, all the strain,
All the pain with excess flame,
Flow with water, down the drain!"

As the water flows down the drain, picture the Fire energies mixing with the water. Keep repeating the litany aloud. Speak the litany with authority and power. Keep saying it until you feel that the excess Fire energy is gone. Continue the process until all the water is gone from the tub. At this point, you should feel more peaceful, relaxed, and physically at ease.

More Kindle Books in the Witchcraft Spell Books Series
After you get your magical fire going with the first Kindle book in this series, take a look at the 2nd and 3rd books. If you just can't wait and want everything at once, then Book 4 is for you. Book 4 - Witchcraft Spell Book: The Complete Guide of Witchcraft Rituals & Spells for Beginners is a compilation of the first 3 books all in one Kindle book. Books 2 and 3 are just what their titles imply. Here's some of the specific topics you can expect to find there.

Book 2 - Learn How to Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells with Household Ingredients
Book 2 in this Kindle book series covers topics such as doing the Sun Candle Blessing, relocating unwanted Spirits that may be in your home or space, several rituals and techniques for dealing with and grounding out negative energies and states, preventing nightmares, getting answers from higher sources to questions you have, creating simple candle spells and using a Book of Shadows.

Book 3 - Learn How to Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells with Magical Tools
Ebook 3 in the series teaches you how to make, find, key and use magical tools for specific operations such as how to use the magical Earth tool, the Plate, for healing, sending psychic messages with a Chalice, the Water element tool, using a pendulum to clear negative energies or conditions, using the Firebowl to get rid of that which does not serve you and is unwanted, using the Wand, the Air element tool, for healing and using the Chalice for a nighttime blessing ritual.

As you can see for a very small financial investment there's lots to kindle your magical fire with these Kindle books. If you are new to magic and looking for a place to start developing your magical techniques, these books will make a great resource and learning tool for you that you can take with you wherever you go.

Is a Black Cat Really Bad Luck?

Whether a black cat is bad luck or not depends on each individual's experience, beliefs and superstitions he or she subscribes to. Superstitions only have as much force as you give them plus as much force as other people have given them over the years. The less you believe, the less force that superstition has on the planet. The force of something like a superstition can actually be weighed and measured, like any kind of knowledge. Up to you whether you choose to add or subtract from it. Daily rituals can help you add or subtract that kind of force in your life.

How Daily Rituals Work in Your Life
Doing daily rituals creates a doorway that allows your desires to manifest in your life with the help of the Universe. Engaging in daily rituals also creates a channel for us to connect with the higher in our lives which includes our own inner guidance, totem spirits, angels and other powers and beings. Most people are so busy during the day that they have a hard time hearing the quiet voices of higher guidance. Our guides speak to us all the time and are willing and eager to help us manifest what we want in life. We just don't hear them over all the noise of things like cell phones, TV, gossip, and traffic. This is where doing daily rituals comes in. It helps us set aside sacred time to connect with the higher and listen to what our guides are saying. Having these forces at work in our lives allows us to pull away from mechanical reactions and old beliefs put on us by others so we can follow our own paths and find what is true for us.

In doing daily rituals, consistency is a key element. By doing a ritual consistently at the same time every time you increase the level and quality of the connection with the higher. There are rituals that you only need to do when the need arises such as those for pain relief or when you need to manifest a certain thing in your life. Then there are other rituals that you want to do every day. These are the ones that will establish connection and relationships with the Universe and higher powers and beings and your own inner guidance. With these type of daily rituals another key element is to keep them simple. If the ritual is too complex the chances of it getting done around our busy schedules lessens.

If you already have a daily ritual practice then we'd love to hear what you do. Leave your story in the comments. If you don't, then check out our Daily Rituals for Attracting What You Want in Life ebook. With this ebook you will receive directions on a variety of rituals such as for pain relief, contact rituals, getting information you need and lots more. It will also help you learn the key ingredients to creating daily rituals yourself.

So is a black cat bad luck? That's up to you to decide. With the help of daily rituals you can hear your own inner guidance and block out the old beliefs others have fed you and find the truth for yourself. Start a magical connection with the higher and give all those poor black cats given a bad rap a break by breaking through the forces that produce superstitions.

Magical Inspiration, Fun, and Knowledge All in One Place!

The Esoteric School is the one to ask, and our Facebook page is the place to go. Here we offer fun, magical expertise, sharing, caring, and much more. Visit, post, ask, share, and have a magically rollicking time! You are definitely invited!

If you haven't joined in on our magical Facebook community lately here's some of what you've missed.

Moving Energy for Pain Relief
Sometimes physical pain and discomfort is the result of stuck or stagnant energy in the body. Our energy can get stuck because of a sedentary lifestyle, old injuries, stress, resentments...the list goes on. In short, we can have stuck energy as a result of everyday events and situations, which results in physical pain. The real question is, what can we do about it?

One of the best and easiest ways to clear energy blockages and get your energy moving freely again is to do this simple healing magic ritual taught in many metaphysical traditions. Here's how:

1. Get in a comfortable position and close your eyes.

2. Relax and breathe for a few moments.

3. Begin by noticing feelings or sensations in your left hand. Some people experience a feeling of warmth or tingling. The sensation may be different for you. It doesn't matter so long as you are aware of sensation in your left hand.

4. Gently move that sensation up your left arm, across your back, down your right arm, and onto your right hand.

5. Now reverse the movement and move the sensation along the same path from your right hand back to your left hand.

6. Now put the sensation on your left foot, and move it up your left leg, across your waist, down your right leg and onto your right foot.

7. Now reverse the movement and move the sensation along the same path from your right leg back to your left leg.

8. Finally, put the sensation at the base of your spine and move that sensation slowly up your spine to the top of your head.

9. Keeping that sensation there, say aloud, "I am."

10. Release your attention from the sensation at the top of your head. Relax and breathe deeply for a few minutes. Open your eyes.

Question Circle Ritual
One of the rituals you'll discover in our Daily Rituals to Attract What You Want in Life ebook is the Question Circle. This ritual helps you address the beings of the four directions for help and guidance. You receive different types of information from the various directions. This is because the beings in the different directions all specialize in certain areas. For example, the East will give you information about communication, planning and ideas. South will give you guidance on steps of action to take, willpower energy and desire. From the West you will get feelings and spirit guidance and the North will give you more practical steps to take.

To do this ritual you will need to gather a Sun Yellow Candle that can easily be carried from place to place, wooden or paper matches to light the candle, a pen, and notebook or paper. After you gather your materials, here's how to do the Question Circle ritual:

1. Locate the directions north, south, east and west. Use a compass if you need to in order to assure you have the directions correct.

2. Create a circle of space about 5-10 feet in diameter.

3. Sit in the South side of your circle facing to the North with your Sun candle in front of you.

4. Light your candle with the wooden or paper matches, hold your hands above and around the flame of the candle and charge the candle by saying:

"Child of wonder, child of flame, nourish my spirit and protect my aim."

5. Now take your candle, pen and paper with you and go sit in the center of your circle facing to the East.

6. Write down your question which for example might be "what blind spots do I have in regards to finances" or "what is blocking the flow of money from coming to me" or "what's the best way to get a job".

7. Take the next 3-5 minutes to let the question just sit in your mind. Don't try to answer it, just sit with it.

8. Next, take your sun candle, paper and pencil with you and move to the East perimeter of your circle. Set your candle down in front of you and ask the question you wrote down out loud to the East. Be prepared for a flurry of information to come at you usually faster than you can write it all down.

9. Start writing everything you get until no more information is coming. Thank the direction of the East and move in a clockwise direction to the next direction which would be the South.

10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 in each direction, moving clockwise to each direction when finished with the previous one. In other words you will start with East as we have outlined, then proceed to repeat the process with South, then West, then North.

11. After you finish the process with North, go back and sit in the center of the circle facing the East and send thanks out all the way around the circle and blow out your candle.

Sudden Health Crisis? Need a Magic Wand Tool?

We are being a little tongue in cheek, but magic can help with both--magic can help with a healing crisis and we can also teach you how to create a magic wand tool to use for healing.

How Magic Works
Real magic isn't quite like you see in most of the fantasy shows on TV and in the movies, although you can accomplish many of things portrayed there. It usually just isn't done exactly the way the fictional characters do it. The first thing to know about how real magic works is that it follows the operating laws of the Universe. These laws govern everything and they exist whether you know them or not and whether you believe in them or not. The second thing is that everything in the Universe is made up of some combination of the four elements air, fire, water and earth. If you want to create anything in this Universe, you have to know the right mix of elemental ingredients. You have to know how much air, fire, water and earth need to be mixed into your creation and in what order they need to be mixed. On a more practical level that translates into what kind of thoughts (air), actions (fire), emotions (water) and resources (earth) need to go into your creation. The four elements are at the basis of magic which is why we start our beginning students off with an in-depth study of them.

Healing With Magic
Magic gives you a shortcut to what you want. For example, if you are angry a lot of the time and you want to change this, you could spend months or years in therapy and that could work. But with magic you would understand that anger is the element Fire in a red-orange color. You would also know that decreasing the fire element in your energetic makeup to balance your red-orange energy on a regular basis will help you not be angry all the time and in a much shorter time-frame. Same thing is true with a physical illness. There are many different magical techniques that work for healing. You will find a wide variety of these in our Energy Healing for Self and Others ebook. Healing with energy allows you to bring energy states which have become disharmonious back into natural balance. Sometimes this is done with magical tools like the magic wand tool and sometimes with the energetic vibrations of various types of plants. There are also techniques done with bare hands, through spellwork, sound, color, using simulacra and many more.

Magic Wand Tool
Why do we put "magic wand tool" in the title? Because a magic wand is a tool and just one of the things it can be used for is magical healing. Specifically, it is the tool that flows the element Air. A proper air magic wand is made of wood. It should be made from an Air-oriented wood so that it is able to handle Air energies. Light-weight and light-colored wood such as white pine, birch, peeled willow, or aspen are examples of good Air-oriented woods. Balsa wood on the other hand is light in weight, but is too soft to use for a wand. The wood needs to be hard enough to last and to handle the energies that will flow through it. Do not use glass, which has too much Water energy, or crystals which are an infinite-spectrum material making them hard to control, for making your wand.

The wood you will need for your wand is a limb that is about ¼ to 3/8 inch diameter from a live tree or recently fallen from a live tree. Don't forget to ask the tree for permission before taking its limb and do not use dowels or other types of processed wood sticks. When searching for the perfect limb, get one that is no thicker than your thumb and no smaller than your pinky. It also needs to be long enough to reach from about the bend in your elbow to the base of your middle finger and no longer than to the tip of your middle finger. The limb should be fairly straight without a lot of bends, curves or notches in it. Searching for the perfect limb can be a magical experience in itself. As you walk through a wooded area of trees take the time to be with nature and listen for a limb that 'calls' to you.

Making Your Own Wand
After you find the perfect limb to make your own wand, you need to make the surface of it smooth. Peel off the bark and if needed, do some light sanding with a fine sandpaper to make it smooth with a satiny finish. Before doing the sanding, notice which end is the growing end of the limb and which end was nearest to the tree trunk. This is important because the growing end will be the tip of your wand and the end closest to the tree trunk will be the base of your wand. Using a knife, carve a notch in the base end of the wand and whittle a rounded off pointed tip at the tip end. Make sure the notch you carve in the base is open and large enough to allow Air energies to be easily drawn in. The notch will look like a V-shape in the end of the wand. The point should be a point, but rounded off so that it is not very sharp. If you have followed these directions, then you now have your own magic wand tool.

The Wand, as with other magical tools, is basically an extension of the magic practitioner's own energies. It allows us to handle more energies when doing air magic than we can with our hands alone. In other words, it extends or magnifies our "reach". This is one reason you want to make sure you "key" your wand before using it. To make it an extension of ourselves, it needs to be personalized to our own energies. Keying also aligns the molecules in our magical tools so that the energies flow only in certain directions and it clears out any junky or impure energies that may already exist in the materials of the tool. You can learn more about using the Wand in our Wand: Air Tool ebook.

How To Live Your Hero's Life

Do you have a personal hero you really look up to? Would you like to be more like that person in your own life? You can. At the very least, you can begin to develop the abilities and attributes that you love in your hero in your own life.

When we see someone whom we'd like to emulate, what we're seeing is that person's archetype. We all wear archetypes around all the time. Most of us have separate archetypes for work, home life, family time, and play time. Archetypes are energy programs that have specific behaviors, attitudes, ways of talking, and abilities.

If you'd like to emulate your hero's archetype, the good news is that it's not that difficult. Two of the easiest ways to bring that archetype into your life are to either appear or act like that archetype.

Look at your hero and note a couple of key characteristics about his or her appearance. Is there something about you hero's hair, mode of dress, makeup, or expressions that really jumps out at you? Bring those appearance characteristics into your own life. For instance, if you're hero always wears large chunky jewelry, try that on for size. Or if your hero is often casually dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, try that on. Practice their facial expressions in the mirror to get the feeling of them.

You can also bring your hero's actions or choices into your life. In any given situation, ask yourself, "What would my hero do or say in this situation?" Begin to speak and act like your hero. You might have to do some research to find out more about your hero before you can answer this question thoroughly.

Once you "key in" to your hero's actions or appearance, you will also bring all of your hero's other abilities and attributes into your life. In effect, you're "wearing" your hero around in your own life. It sounds a little wacky at first, but you'll see that it can be very effective.

One last thing...make sure you have a way to get back to yourself. Use a specific word, expression, appearance or action that is unique to your everyday persona as a way to "key in" to your own everyday personality. For instance, if you use the expression "Cool beans!" a lot, you can use this as a way to return to yourself. You want to wear your hero around at chosen times, but you still want to be able to be yourself as well!

Explore the Possibility That Magic IS Real

Are you a believer that real magic exists, do you believe there is no such thing as magic, or are you somewhere in between? Maybe you aren't sure if real magic exists, but would like to believe. If your mind is open at all to the possibility, take a look at our Is Magic Real article and try out some simple magic rituals for yourself and see what you think then. Put away your preconceived notions from what you've seen in fantasy shows and books and make up your own mind based on your own experience. Here are 3 simple magic rituals to try out that will help you get your day off to a good start or end your day with serenity and let you wind down for a peaceful night's rest. Give one or all of them a try and judge the results you get.

1. Sun Candle
Get your day off to a good start with a morning boost of energy by using the Sun Candle ritual. All you need for this simple ritual is a pure bright yellow candle and wooden or paper matches. Then:

1. Sit in the South facing North and have the candle in front of you.

2. Light the candle with your matches.

3. Once the flame of the candle is steady, hold your hands around the flame, but far enough away that you don't get burned, and focus your attention of wanting more energy on it.

4. Say the following verse in a powerful voice to "charge" the candle:
"Child of Wonder,
Child of Flame,
Nourish My Spirit,
And Protect My Aim!"

You can now sit quietly with the candle burning (observing fire safety of course) or just leave it burning in the room while you get ready to go out for the day. If you have to move to another room, take it with you. If you are especially low energy, you can hold your hands around the candle and "pull" Sun Yellow energy from the candle. Don't pull from the flame, just the candle. Sun Yellow is a fire energy color that nourishes spirit and can be energizing. After leaving the candle burning for around 30 minutes, blow the flame out. Take a few minutes to see how you feel, if there is a difference in your energy level, if you feel more harmonious or lighter.

2. Placemat Exercise
Running around in the morning trying to get everyone dressed, fed and out the door? Mornings can be hectic in many families, but take the time to do this simple ritual from Abraham-Hicks (http://www.abraham-hicks.com) and you may be surprised how the Universe can help you start your day off in a magical way instead of feeling overwhelmed. Here's how you do the Placemat Exercise.

1. Start with a clean sheet of paper.

2. Draw a line down the middle of the paper.

3. To the left of the line write "Things I Want to Be, Do or Have Today".

4. To the right of the line write "Things I Want the Universe to Bring Me Today".

5. Then start writing on the left side of the paper all the things you really want to be, do or have. This is not a to-do list for the day, so don't write things you have to do or should do or that you don't want to do. Only write down things that inspire you, that you are anticipating with joy, or that are pleasing to you.

6. After you've taken a few minutes to write on the left, switch to writing on the right side of the page. Write what you want the Universe to do for you today or to bring you. This could be things you feel you have no control over, things you don't want to do but are required to for some reason, or things you don't even want to think about. You might ask for the Universe to bring you inspiration or willingness to face and do these things, or ask the Universe to take care of those things for you or you might just ask for being joyful or peaceful for whatever situations you have to face today.

7. After you have finished the lists on both the left and the right side of the paper, take 17 seconds to focus on each item on the list with a feeling of pure positive emotion. Envision those things you want being a reality and already yours, focus on the vision of those things you weren't so wild about already completed and out of the way. Just beam with positive energy and emotion for those 17 seconds and you'll find the rest of your day will be more carefree and less stressful.

3. Night Time Blessing Ritual
This ritual can be done with a partner, a family, your pet or just by yourself. Done consistently each night it can help you unwind from the day and be able to get a good night's sleep. Here are directions for doing it with others and you can just adapt it if doing it by yourself or with a pet.

1. You will need a goblet or Chalice that has a stem, spring or well water, a color source of water blue (medium blue color, not light blue and not navy blue) and non-iodized salt.

2. Sit in the South facing the North with the Chalice in front of you.

3. Fill the Chalice half way full with the water.

4. Take some of the salt and sprinkle a bit into the water in the Chalice.

5. Look at your water blue color source and blow that color from your mouth into the Chalice.

6. Swirl the Chalice to move the water in a clockwise direction.

7. Say the following verse repeating Step 5 and 6 after each line of the verse.
"Water and Earth where you are cast,
Let no spell nor adverse purpose last,
Not in accord with me.
Bless these people and bless their space, (if doing alone change to "Bless this person and bless my space."
Far from here send baneful trace.
Thus my will, so it be."

8. Pick up the Chalice in your left hand, turn towards the person you are blessing.

9. Dip your index finger on your right hand in the water and use that finger to draw lines of about 1 to 1 ½ inches long on the person's forehead in this manner:

  • Vertical Line down center of forehead
  • Horizontal line drawn left to right through center of first line
  • Draw clockwise circle starting on right end of horizontal line and touching ends of all lines

10. As you draw the circle, say, "For the peace of your mind".

11. Repeat Steps 9 and 10 drawing on the chest over the heart and say, "For the joy of your heart".

12. Now have the person you are blessing take a sip of the water and you say, "And for the health of your body".

13. Now that you have done the blessing for your partner, have them repeat all these steps for you. If you have more people as in the whole family, you can pass the Chalice around a circle and have each person bless the one next to them, or have one person go around and do the blessing on everyone and then someone do it for them.

There you have it. Three simple, magical rituals that anyone can do right away with no special training. Just dive right in, try one or all three. Do them consistently for 40 days to really give this a chance and keep your mind open to new possibilities. Then sit back, observe, and see what magical things come to make a difference in your life. That will give you the experience and the data to make your own decision about how real magic is.

Esoteric School Discovery Guide to Magic – Part III

A Strong Relationship with the Universe is a Crucial Key to Successful Manifestation.

Would you ask a huge favor of a total stranger? Probably not. You might ask to borrow a section of the newspaper while riding the subway, but you wouldn't ask them to babysit your kids. On the other end of the spectrum, your best friend will do anything for you and vice versa. The same is true of the Universe. When you just begin your relationship with the Universe (with the Beauty Way or working with angels), ask for small favors. With each successful co-creation with the Universe and mutual appreciation (the Universe thanks you and you thank the Universe), the relationship deepens, which gives you the leeway to ask for more and bigger favors. One key is to thank the Universe right after asking the favor and also when the manifestation occurs.

Daily Rituals to Form Connection
Daily rituals are one way to start forming a relationship with the Universe and higher beings. They create a channel for us to spend some time each day connecting with the higher which could include our own inner guidance, totem spirits, angels or other higher powers and beings. Pick a daily ritual to do consistently each and every day. It doesn't have to be long or complicated; just something that connects you with the higher. If you don't have a ritual you already use or want to use, you can find lots of them on our blog or in our Daily Rituals for Attracting What You Want in Life ebook. The daily ritual you use should be one that gets you away for a time from your busy day so that you can hear the quiet voices of higher guidance. You may or may not know that there are guides speaking to us all the time. They want to help us manifest what we want in life. We just can't always hear them over all the noise that surrounds us with cell phones, TV, gossip, etc... Doing daily rituals gives us that quiet time to hear and connect with these higher beings. It is important when establishing a relationship with the Universe to do it with as much consistency as you can. Those in spiritual circles know that the consistency of doing a ritual at the same time every time increases the level and quality of the connection with the higher.

Here are some things to remember as you start using daily rituals to connect with the Universe.

  • You can be, do, and have everything and anything you want.
  • The Universe is friendly--it's on your side and will help you succeed.
  • Be grateful first--you'll then receive.
  • The Universe delivers whatever you put your attention toward--what you think and feel. It can't go against that.
  • If you've asked for something that isn't coming to you, ask for help shifting your energy into a more allowing and receiving mode.
  • Don't try too hard--relax. The more relaxed and joyful you are, the faster the things you want will come to you.

Now that you know why daily rituals are important and what they can bring to your life, get started and pick one to do. Do it daily and consistently and watch the magic of the Universe unfold in your life.

Book 3 entitled Learn How to Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells With Magical Tools gives you offerings such as:

Book 4 is a compilation of these 3 books so you can have this magical knowledge in one place. Remember that you don't have to have a Kindle to read these digital books. Any Smart Phone or computer will do. Just get the free Kindle app and download the books off Amazon. It's a great way to get started using magic or a budget friendly gift to send a friend to introduce them to the world of magic.

Then if you are looking for some relationship help, check out L Is For Love Magick.

As a sample for you to see exactly the type of magical knowledge these books provide, here is one of the techniques with directions to follow. With this technique you can literally spin your problems away with the pendulum. Here's how:

1. Dangle the pendulum from your dominant hand while visualizing the problem you want to clear.

2. Ask if you should and can clear the situation and use the pendulum with a yes/no indicator for the answer.

3.If the answer is yes, start swinging the pendulum counter clockwise, which is the direction of unwinding and ask that the problem or situation be cleared. "See" the situation resolving within your mind and be very specific as to what you are requesting and how you envision the situation being resolved.

4. Keep your focus on clearing the situation until the pendulum stops spinning counter clockwise and watch for it to then either start moving side to side on a vertical or horizontal axis, or stop spinning completely, or begin spinning in a clockwise direction. Once the pendulum does one of these on its own, the problem is cleared.

Simple right, but oh so effective in helping you deal with everyday problems using magic. Of course you can always bring the problem back by worrying about it, but this technique is quick and simple enough to do as many times as you need to. By trusting the power of this magical tool and your intent you can however release the problem totally from your consciousness.

Real magic really can make a difference in your life. So say hello to your inner magician by getting started gathering the magical knowledge that can help you start living a magical life.

Magical Fixes for the Monday Morning Blues

If you're singing the Monday morning blues (no matter what day of the week it is), here are five magical ways you can change your tune:

PREPAVING: This is one of our favorite magical techniques from one of our teachers. Just sit for 3-5 minutes in a quiet spot and focus on what you want and how you want your day to look. We spend so much time worrying about what we have to do, what we should do and what might happen that we forget what's most important – what we want! So spend a few minutes sending the Universe a few hints about how you want your day to look, and the Universe will deliver exactly that, and then some!

SUN CANDLE: Did you know that the color sun yellow (bright yellow with no orange) actually nourishes and refreshes your Spirit? If you're feeling groggy, grumpy or grouchy, sit in front of a lit sun yellow candle for a few minutes. It will refresh you and give you happy, joyful energy.

CONSCIOUS CHOICE: We spend so much time in our minds that our Spirits don't get much chance to come out and play. Yet, we are happiest when we are living in Spirit rather than in mind. To give you a hint, you were probably most in Spirit when you were a playful child. So, to get your Spirit in gear for a fun and playful day, make a conscious choice – it exercises Spirit. Just say to yourself, "I will now make a conscious choice." Then ask yourself a question such as, "Do I choose to have cereal or toast for breakfast?" Go with the first answer you hear or receive. Following Spirit's guidance will align your energies and make for a positive day.

GREET THE DAY: One way to stay in touch with your Spirit and with nature is to go outside and greet the day. It's simple. Go outside, extend your attention into the sky and say, "Sky Above." Then, extend your attention into the earth and say, "and Earth Below." Then, with attention both above and below, say, "I greet you." Wait a moment and see what gifts the Universe brings you (this is a simple form of the Navajo Beauty Way). You will experience peace, joy, satisfaction and nourishment.

HIRE SOME HELPERS: Need a little extra help today? Hire some helpers! Whether it's animal totems or angels, all kinds of powers and beings stand ready to help you. All you have to do is ask! Some people draw cards from the Medicine Card deck to set the "tone" of their day, while other people hire angels. Whoever you hire, just remember to thank them when you receive the help you've asked for.

There are so many ways to design your day and your life. For more ways to bring simple magical fixes into your day and your life get our magical Kindle books series.

Solving Life Problems with a Simple Exercise

Do you have something you keep tripping over in your life? Maybe issues about money, relationships, career, weight or family? While most of us seem to handle many of life's little problems quite functionally, there are usually one or two issues that we can't seem to get a grip on. What should we do? If we want to handle the situation as a shaman would, we would create an exercise that would show us where the real difficulty lies.

By the law of "as above, so below," it's possible to re-create our lives as a microcosm that we can easily see in the form of an exercise. Suppose you're chronically short of money, and suppose that the reason you are chronically short of money is because you keep buying things that you don't need – you can't seem to stop yourself. How do you develop an exercise for this? Here are the steps:

1) Identify the "theme" of the problem. For instance, in this example it's "What you don't need."

2) Identify the "theme" of the solution. In this case, it would be "Conserve." In other words, you want to stop putting out resources for what you don't need.

3) Choose an area of your life where you can practice the theme of the solution, AWAY from the area of problem. In this case, you want to conserve, but don't try to conserve with money – you've already tried it and it doesn't work. Instead, find somewhere else you can conserve.

For instance, you might look at whether you talk when you don't need to, act when you don't need to or think and worry excessively. If "what you don't need" manifests in the money department of your life, it will show up elsewhere, too. If you talk excessively, you might create an exercise like this: once a day, pick a conversation will you will conserve your breath and say only what is necessary. Each night, record the results of this exercise in conservation in a journal. Do this exercise for 40 days and see what happens.

You will find that you learn the law of conservation through talking less, and that it will begin to apply to your spending habits. The key is to work through the problem in a relatively benign exercise – something that's almost silly. And when you work it out in the exercise, you'll have worked it out in your life as well! Remember that the exercise is a microcosm of your life, and what works in the exercise applies everywhere else in life.

Using Healing Spells in the Practice of Magic: Flower Essence Recipes and More

In the practice of magic, healing spells are a natural way to change energy coming from pain, disease or illness. Anyone can be a healer with the practice of magic. Healing spells can help you heal yourself, your pets, the planet or other people. And the good news is that you already know how to heal. Healing is a natural human quality. Some of us just haven't learned to use our natural healing abilities.

About Magical Healing
Everything in the Universe is made up of energy which is in a constant state of vibration or movement. Even things that look solid are really just a composite of energies. If you are going to engage in healing spells or healing work, then you need to be able to work with energy. Everything has its own electro-magnetic field much like an energy signature. Illness, pain and disease are caused by disharmonious energy. So a sick person or animal has basically moved into an energy state that doesn't match their natural vibrational state. Making adjustments to the energetic state can bring it back into balance.

Plants For Healing Spells
One of the magical healing techniques covered in our Energy Healing for Self and Others ebook, is the use of plants in the practice of magic. Each plant has its own unique energy signature and one of the techniques presented in this ebook is making your own flower essences. Flower essences make available to us the vibrational frequencies and individual qualities of plants. Below are a couple of examples of flower essence recipes for specific healing.

Want to Learn Tarot? "Wear" The Cards to Gain Personal Knowledge

Tarot is a fascinating magic study that can give you a powerful tool to gather information and use for divination. When you first begin to learn tarot, you must of course understand the meaning of each of the cards. A good way to do this is to become personally involved with them instead of just memorizing descriptions. The meaning of the card can vary according to the reading you are doing, so developing a personal relationship and understanding of the cards can help them come alive for you in readings thus giving you the meaning in that reading in that situation. Before you can become personally involved with the cards however, you first need to key your deck. This ties the deck into your own energies and the energies from the Universe itself.

Natural Order
The first step to keying the Tarot deck is putting the deck in natural order. Following is the order the cards need to be put in for natural order. These should be placed with the first card listed face down on the top of the deck.
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Wands
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Swords
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Cups
2-10, Page, Knight, Queen, King, Ace of Discs
1-21 of the Major Arcana with the Fool being the last card

Keying The Deck
Sit in the South facing North with your keyed Plate (Earth tool) and Tarot deck arranged in natural order in front of you.

Put two candles that are either Sun Yellow, White, or Sky Blue on either side of the Plate. The candle on the right is the Wisdom candle and the one on the left is the Protection candle. Light the Wisdom candle with a wooden match, then keeping the match lit, sweep it down in an arc over the Plate to the Protection candle and light it. Finish up by moving the lit match in a sweeping arc back over the Plate to touch the flame of the Wisdom candle that is already lit. This process creates a connection between the two candles.

Now take your Tarot deck and put the first card on top of the deck, which should be the 2 of Wands, face up on your Plate.

Look at the card noticing the color, flatness, dimensions of it without focusing on any particular detail. Continue looking at the card, not with a hard stare but rather a soft gaze and start asking questions such as "What time of day is it?" or "Is that a town in the background?" or "Is that an ocean or a lake?" You aren't looking for answers to these questions; they are simply to create curiosity about the card. Continue asking questions until the card "windows". When the card "windows" it will become clearer, more alive, three dimensional, more colorful or brighter. It will feel like you are looking through a window at the scene on the card.

The card is now keyed and you can take it off the Plate and put it face down to start a pile next to the Plate. Then do the process with the next card.

Since this process takes a while, you don't have to do it all at once. You can do a few at a time. If you have a card that you can't get to "window", just put it to the side and try again later. This can happen if you have some type of issue about that card.

Wearing Tarot Cards
After keying all your Tarot cards you are ready to learn Tarot card meanings. Wearing a different card each day will help you gain personal knowledge about the cards. You will experience how the card feels and get messages from the Universe about the card that you put on for the day. Here's how you "wear" a Tarot card:

Pick one of the Tarot cards from the deck and spend several minutes just really looking at it. Look at the symbols on the card, the pictures on it and the number of each. Think about what you know about the 4 elements in relation to the symbols. For example, if the card has cups in it then you know it is associated with the Water element since the magical tool for this element is the Chalice. The Water element deals with emotions and feelings so you'll also know that the card deals with these areas. Focus all your intention on the card and listen for it to "speak" to you. This might happen by you seeing or feeling it come alive by seeing movement in it, hearing words in your mind associated with it or that you notice changes in the brightness of the colors. Absorb the energies you feel from the card and take this energy with you the rest of the day. At the end of the day make notes about what you observed and how your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and interactions were affected that day.

Really getting to know the cards and creating a personal experience with them and what they mean will help you develop a deeper understanding of them. That way when you do readings you don't just have a memorized definition that you have to try to fit into the reading, you'll have a whole new perspective on the card meaning and the relationship with it to understand what it is saying in any particular Tarot reading you do. If you're ready to move on and develop a deeper understanding of the Tarot and how to work with it, check out our online Tarot Course.

How To Get Happy by Being More Like Your Dog

The new year is in full swing and once again we are back to work or school. Our minds are engaged, our lives are full, and we are probably less relaxed than we were during our time off for the holidays.

So how can you stay in touch with that sensation of relaxation even while you are mentally engaged in your daily tasks? As odd as it may sound, if you spend just 5 minutes a day being like your dog, you can easily get back in touch with that relaxed state.

It's called "dog mind." Dog mind is how dogs and most animals spend their days. Have you ever watched your dog for long periods of time? When relaxed, he sits or lies down. He has his eyes open but isn't necessarily watching or thinking anything in particular. He's in dog mind.

How can you achieve dog mind? Simple. Get into a relaxed position and keep your eyes open. Move your head slowly back and forth so that your eyes take in the things around you, and focus on keeping your mind completely blank and silent. It sometimes helps to hold your breath for a few seconds while you do this - suspending the breath seems to help some of us suspend our thoughts.

You may only be able to hold this silent state for a few seconds before thoughts intrude. When thoughts do come in, take a deep breath and hold it while you scan your surroundings again.

To find out whether you're really in dog mind, scan the room with your eyes without keeping your mind blank. Notice all the thoughts, opinions, and associations that flood your mind. Now take a deep breath and slide back into dog mind. Notice the difference.

If you're ready for an advanced form of this exercise, look at different signs or banners as you move about town. Focus on looking at those signs without reading them. Simply see the letters and numbers as you would see any other object in your environment.

Spending just a few minutes in dog mind each day can reset your emotional tone to one of high, positive vibration. In that high state, you can attract and manifest what you want in life much more easily than in your normal state. Not bad for a dog, right?

How a Blind Date Can Increase Your Psychic Abilities

So how can a blind date increase your psychic abilities? It's probably not what you're thinking. We're not talking about having a few drinks with someone you've never met before. We're talking about developing your psychic abilities by deliberating shutting down one or more of your five senses.

Because we are such physical creatures, we have a tendency to use our five senses in everything we do. That's not a bad idea for driving, walking, or working on the computer, but if you want to increase your psychic or spirit abilities, using your five senses less will help.

That's where the blind date comes in. A blind date is where you blindfold yourself and have a buddy walk you around on a "date." Your buddy's job is to make sure that you're safe and you don't walk into anything or fall in a ditch. Your buddy is your guide and will lead you around, keeping you safe and upright.

Your part of this date is to extend your psychic abilities outward as your buddy walks you around. Sense what is around you. Do you sense a large object ahead or just open space? Sense what is behind and above you as well, since your psychic abilities will allow you to see in 360 degrees.

You might want to have your buddy walk you around for a while, in many directions until you no longer have a sense of where you are. Then spin slowly around and extend your spirit perceptions. Tell your buddy what you sense in each direction and have him or
her tell you if you're right.

If you don't have a buddy to do this with, you can do it by yourself outside. Start in a relatively open space and just move slowly so you don't get hurt. Give a whole new meaning to the term "blind date," right? Want to learn more ways to develop and practice using your psychic abilities? Check out our Psychic Development ebook.

Getting Answers from the Four Directions

It is often said that two heads are better than one. Well, how about four heads? When you really need some new and different perspectives on a situation or event that has been bothering you, one of the best guidance you can get is from the four directions. Tribal and religious customs have long acknowledged the power of the four directions as source of advice and guidance. They have made use of four directions ceremonies and prayer.

A simple way to receive guidance from the four directions is to ask one direction per day for help. This is a simplified four directions ceremony. You'll need a Sun Yellow candle (any candle that is bright yellow), pen and paper, and some white broadleaf sage (you can use either the leaf clusters or a smudge stick). While white broadleaf sage is primarily an air element botanical, it has enough of the other three elements (fire, water and earth) to be used in all four directions. White broadleaf sage is highly prized for its strong aromatic properties (strongest of the different types of sage) and is considered the king of all sages. It is excellent for meditation, divination, smudging, cleansing and purification.

Ready? Here's how to ask for answers from the four directions.

Four Directions Ceremony
DAY 1

  • Sit facing East, direction of the element Air (thoughts, communication, ideas, inspiration, enlightenment).
  • Write the situation on paper as clearly and succinctly as possible. Then write the outcome you want, also as clearly and succinctly as possible.
  • Light the Sun Yellow candle with a paper or wooden match (no lighters!).
  • Hold your hands up to and around the candle flame and say in a strong voice:

"Child of wonder,Child of flame,Nourish my Spirit,And protect my aim!"

  • Hold the situation and the desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes (with eyes open or closed).
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry you question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What ideas, inspiration or communication is needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Then write whatever answers come to you. Do not question or think about the answers – just write! Write until there are no more answers.
  • Thank the East.
  • Tear the sheet or sheets of paper that have the answers off the pad and store them in a safe place. Do NOT read the answers.

DAY 2

  • Sit facing South, direction of the element Fire (action, passion, will, power).
  • Have the paper on which you have written the situation and desired outcome in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse, same as the day before.
  • Hold the situation and desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry you question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What actions are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the South.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAY 3

  • Sit facing West, direction of the element Water (emotions, compassion, language of Spirit).
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What emotions or Spirit changes are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the West.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAY 4

  • Sit facing North, direction of the element Earth (manifestation, physical reality, the body).
  • Have the paper on which you have written the situation and desired outcome in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse, same as the day before.
  • Hold the situation and desired outcome in your attention for a few minutes.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry your question or prayer to the direction.
  • Ask aloud to the direction: "What physical changes are needed to resolve this situation and create the desired outcome?"
  • Record the answers, same as the day before. Again, do not think about the answers, just write them.
  • Thank the North.
  • Store the answers in a safe place, but do not read them.

DAYS 5 and 6
Do not think about the situation or ponder the answers you have been given. Do not read the answers you wrote.

DAY 7

  • Sit in the South facing North, with the Sun Candle and your answers in front of you.
  • Light the Sun Candle and say the verse.
  • Light the white sage from the Sun Candle – the sage will carry your thanks and appreciation to the four directions.
  • Relax and read the answers.
  • Thank the four directions.
  • Meditate on the answers for as long as feels good.
