What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do

Do you ever feel lost in life? Do you wish you had some guidance on a particular issue or problem that keeps cropping up in your life? Or do you just need some reassurance that the path you are on is the right one from you?

If so, it may be time to check in with the Spirit of Owl. In many Native American and tribal traditions, Owl is a seer. You can ask the Spirit of Owl to assist you in seeing anything that is hidden from you in life. For instance, you can ask Owl to help you see what's blocking your manifestation, creating an illness or causing disharmony in your workplace. Owl helps you see anything that is hidden from you, including what other people are seeing and feeling.

Here's how to ask Spirit of Owl for help:

1. Say aloud or in your mind, "Spirit of Owl, I request your help."

2. Wait a few moments until you feel the presence of Owl (no more than a few seconds).

3. State your request. For instance, if you need help seeing what's causing an illness, you might say, "Owl, please come with me today and show me what is causing this illness in my body. Please show me in a way that I can clearly understand. Thank you in advance for your help." As with angels, appreciation is important.

4. Stay open to what Owl will show you. Owl will ride with you on your shoulder, whispering in your ear, giving you knowing and understanding where before you had only blindness and confusion. Owl may bring up old memories, send you a phrase from the mouth of a stranger or bring a chance meeting with another person. Owl will use any and every device to help you see.

If at the end of the stated period of time, a day in the above example, you still don't understand what Owl is showing you, ask again the next day. Each day Owl will make it more obvious to you. Each time you gain a new insight or understanding, thank Owl for the help. Remember that Owl penetrates secrets and veils, and can show you anything you wish to know. To gain help from this quick-fixer, all you have to do is ask!

Meditating Made Simple

Meditating is a simple and effective way to create peace, joy, harmony and manifestation in your life. Meditation has been practiced for centuries by students of many traditions, and there are as many forms of meditation as there are colors in a rainbow. A simple way to start meditating is to follow the steps below.

1. Sit comfortably in a quiet place. Make sure you have at least 15 minutes of quiet, undisturbed time to sit - early in the morning is best. Feel free to sit on the ground, in a chair or anywhere you find comfortable. You do not need to sit in the lotus position, just any position you find comfortable.

2. You may want to sit with a lit candle, burning incense or a fountain to improve your meditating. You may also want to burn some incense or botanicals like lavender to help you relax.

3. Once you have set up your space and are sitting quietly, close your eyes. Feel the breath moving in and out of your body, but don't try to force the breath or breathe on purpose. Instead, feel your body breathing by itself.

4. If thoughts come into your mind, let them simply pass through.

Here is a metaphor that will help:
Imagine that you are sitting on the shore of a river watching boats go by. The boats are the thoughts that come into your mind. Every now and then, you will get so fascinated with a particular boat that you will want to jump on board and investigate. This is what happens when your thoughts carry you away from your quiet place on the shore. When you notice that you have been carried away by one of your thoughts, just return to your quiet place on the shore and notice your breath again.

5. If you have great difficulty being interrupted by your thoughts, you can also meditate with your eyes open, focusing on a candle flame or on the smoke from your incense burner. Sometimes having a visual focus will reduce the internal chatter from your mind. The sound of a fountain, which is irregular and difficult for your mind to follow, can also help.

6. Sit for at least 15 minutes in this way quietly meditating, or longer if you desire. The length of your meditation is not as important as the consistency. It is better to do a shorter meditation daily than to do longer ones sporadically.

7. Do not judge the results of your meditation by how peaceful or disruptive it was. It's the effort to reach a place of inner quiet that matters, regardless of whether you actually reached total quiet.

Even a session filled with thoughts and efforts to return to inner quiet can be effective. The results of your meditation will appear in your daily life - during daily encounters and events. You will find, over time, a new sort of peace and inner quiet in dealing with all of life's events and people. Most of all, enjoy your time of meditation. It is time you are devoting to your own inner development. The more you develop your inner life, the more your outer life will flourish and grow. The practice of magical daily rituals is another way to develop your inner life as well as your connection with the higher. Our Daily Rituals ebook can help you get started on a regular practice of daily rituals.

Emotional Alchemy

See if this scenario sounds familiar. You're under a lot of stress. You feel irritable, angry, or depressed, and you wish with all your heart that you could "snap out of it" but you just seem to be attracting more of the same. Every attempt to jolly yourself out of the blues just seems to frustrate you more ...  nothing changes, your emotional state is like a snowball rolling downhill and everyone is walking on eggshells around you.

If that scenario rings a bell, then you might need some emotional alchemy. Originally, alchemy was the art and science of transforming base metals like lead into the precious metal gold. Today in magic, alchemy is the art of transforming anything from a lower to a higher state. So if your emotions are hanging out in the lower tones and you can't get any relief, try some alchemy.

Surprisingly, emotional alchemy doesn't require candles, sage, wands, or firebowls. It's much simpler than that. All you have to do is reprogram one single part of yourself. One of my good friends has a saying, "What wires together fires together." In terms of magic, this means that your body, mind, and Spirit are wired together in certain ways, and under stress these three parts tend to respond in the same way all the time.

To see how this works just look for a stress indicator. This could be a fidget, a facial expression, the need to eat, fast talking, waving your hands, smoking a cigarette, or drinking a Coke. These are all responses that occur when you're under stress. Let's take one example - drinking a
Coke - and see how mind, body, and Spirit wire together. If you tend to drink Coke when you're under stress, here's the sequence of what might be happening:
  • Mind: Has the thought "I can't do this."
  • Body: Automatically reaches for a Coke with the right hand and takes a drink.
  • Spirit: Checks out and leaves body.
  • Result: Feelings of anger, depression, irritability
Mind's thought automatically causes the body to grab the Coke with the right hand and causes Spirit to leave. Every time you are under stress the same sequence "fires together" over and over again - and Spirit, the part of you that guides you through life toward your birth vision, is constantly absent. Since Mind is like a computer, it can't change its program. Only Spirit can do that. You end up with a broken record, with mind repeating "I can't do this" and body drinking lots of Coke. It's becomes a cycle that is almost impossible to snap out of unless you bring Spirit back into the equation.

So how do you rewire this strange sequence so you can transform your emotional responses? Just change one small part of the wiring. In the example above, you might notice when body reaches for the Coke with the right hand. Stop. Switch hands. Reach for the Coke with your left hand. This automatically causes Spirit to stay in body and be present - it forces you, Spirit, to be present. Only Spirit can make those kinds of changes. And when Spirit is present, you are able to handle the stressful situation differently.

In fact, just bringing Spirit into a stressful situation changes things - automatically. This is the alchemy at work. Suddenly, even if just for a moment, you feel lighter, less burdened, and even happy. Now if you pause in that moment and notice the difference, the change will become more permanent. You, all three parts, will develop a memory about this new feeling and a new set of wiring will be created. Now when you find yourself in a stressful situation, you'll have a choice. You can do the same old response of feeling depressed or angry (right hand reaching for the Coke) or you can change the game plan and reach for the Coke with the left hand.

Emotional alchemy doesn't mean you'll choose the happier path every time. It just gives you a choice. So if you want to expand the number of choices you have in your life, look at the situations where you get in trouble and figure out what's wiring and firing together. Then unwire and rewire just one piece of that equation and you'll have a new choice. Imagine what would happen if you did this in every area of your life. Hmmm ...!

Magic: Practice So You Don't Panic

by Stephanie Yeh

I recently had an experience that showed me why I practice magical techniques any chance I get. One of my horses choked on her food (a chunk of it was stuck in her throat so she could breathe but not swallow). She was panicked, sweating, and running around in small circles. She also had saliva pouring out of her mouth and nose. I suffered a moment of panic myself before all of my magical training kicked in. I took a deep breath and began doing energy handling with the four elements. Specifically I:

1. Pulled red orange and yellow orange fire energy from her entire body to reduce her panic and movement. I dumped all that excess fire energy into a nearby power transformer. She calmed down enough so I could begin to locate the source of the choke.

2. Ran my hand along the bottom of her neck (about an inch away from her neck) until I felt the "hot spot" where the food was stuck in her throat.

3. Began flowing water energy into the area to move the stuck food along. Within about 5 minutes of flowing water energy, she really calmed down and almost went to sleep. I continued this process for another 15 minutes.

Within an hour, my horse was up and grazing calmly as if nothing had happened. I was delighted! It definitely showed how energy could move matter (the stuck food).

Even more important, this experience showed me why I had spent all those hours practicing my magical techniques, such as throwing bolts of fire energy to make a candle flame jump. The repetitive practice allowed me to act without thinking in an emergency situation, and to resolve the potentially life-and-death problem quickly.

That same practice has stood me in good stead when it comes to self-defense. I was once verbally attacked at a picnic by a drunken man on a tirade. He was advancing on me quickly, yelling all sorts of insults. I backed up against a drinking fountain, which makes an excellent electrical ground, and began pulling fire energy, the energy of rage and drunkenness. I didn't have time to think, I just did it.

Luckily angry people radiate fire energy at an immense rate and I was able to pull and ground most of his excess energy. By the time he got within 2 feet of me he had lost steam. He looked confused for a moment, and then wandered off while muttering under his breath. Had I taken the time to think, he might have started in with the physical abuse.

I admit that I used to get very bored and twitchy when it came to the repetitive practice with air, fire, water, and earth energies. The practice seemed so remote from any use that I might eventually have for it that my mind would just wander off to other topics. But events like these really bring it on home for me. Practice, boring though it may be, keeps me from panicking when I need to act quickly. It's a realization I'm supremely grateful for because it keeps the practice of magic real for me. Magic then emerges from the land of strange "out there" stuff and into the practical nitty-gritty of my everyday life. 5 Reasons We Don't Get What We Want

It is a magical truth that you can be, do and have everything you want in life. This is not a new concept as master teachers world-wide have been teaching it for ages. All that is necessary in getting everything you want is to ask the Universe and sit back and let it deliver. It's like being in a great magical café. You select what you want from the menu of infinite possibilities, place your order and the Universe delivers. So why aren't we all doing this? You first have to get yourself to the "restaurant" and second make yourself ready to receive. One way to enter the "restaurant" is by doing daily rituals. These are small planned actions that connect us with what we want in life and put us in the energetic space to be able to receive. Daily rituals can help you release pain, start the day and end the day in a magical way, get help from higher powers and beings, and access knowledge from the Universe. You'll find a wide variety of these in our Daily Rituals for Attracting What You Want in Life ebook.

We've identified 5 of the main reasons more people aren't using this simple principle and manifesting all their desires. In previous articles we've explored four of these reasons in-depth and gave some magical solutions for turning them around. In this article, we will explore the number 1 reason we think interferes with the magical process - We Don't Believe We Can Be, Do, and Have Everything We Want.

As a reminder, the top 5 reasons we've identified are:
1. We Don't Believe We Can Be, Do, and Have Everything We Want
2. Negativity is Popular
3. We Are Hypnotized by Daily Life
4. We Are Afraid of Failure
5. We Think We Have to "Make it Happen"

We Don't Believe We Can Be, Do, and Have Everything We Want
The majority of us grew up hearing phrases like, "You can't have your cake and eat it, too." or "There's no such thing as a free lunch." With that philosophy being drummed into us it's no wonder we don't believe we can have it all. The lesson our society teaches is that if you want something, you have to give up something. The Universe however has no limits so we can ask for anything, create anything and receive anything and everything we want and there's still enough for everyone else to do the same. It's not a limited supply or inventory that will run out. The Universe we live in is continuously expanding and as more and more people begin creating, they can all be accommodated. There's no way we could ask for more than the Universe can handle.

The Real Magical Truth
The real truth is that it is part of our jobs as human beings to create. It is one of the reasons we are here in physical bodies; to experience the process of creation. Doing daily rituals is one of the ways we can separate from our mechanical ways of living and rushing through everyday life to connect with the Universe and higher beings that can help us. That's why it's called "co-creating". We don't have to do it alone. It's our job to do the dreaming and asking, then to sit back and let the Universe do its job of delivering. We have to get out of our own way so to speak and trust that the Universe is limitless and can do its part. Basically, you have to believe in the magic that is available to you and allow it to work in your life.
