Relationships Magic: Are You A Water Personality?

In our last blog article we discussed relationship magic in relation to the Fire element personality. This article focuses on the Water element personality. When you know which of the 4 elements is most predominant in your personality, you can gain a greater understanding into your relationships with others. Relationship magic entails first of all developing an understanding of the characteristics you display from your predominant element. This gives you insight into your own personality which can lead you to choosing a career and relationships that you will be successful in. If you know what element your personality is, then you can balance with other elements when needing to interact with a person of an incompatible element or to accommodate for certain situations. You can also know what people are good matches with you by determining their elemental make-up.

The Water Element
Magic has a basic principle that almost everything in the Universe is made up of a combination of the 4 elements: Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Understanding the 4 elements and their characteristics allows you therefore to understand anything in the Universe. That includes your basic personality and your relationships. You can learn more about the Water element in our Magical Element Water short course, but here are some of the basic characteristics associated with the Water element:

emotions, feelings, intuition, compassion, empathy, sympathy, knowing, devotion, quest, aspiration, intention, appreciation, integrity, harmony, beauty, balance, serenity, fluidity, grief, apathy, joy, love

The Water Personality
Look over these characteristics of the Water element carefully and in relation to your own personality. Do these resonant with personality traits that you display? If you are a Water personality you are an empathetic and compassionate person. Other people often turn to you for comfort, love and assurance. You may be involved in causes that take care of others and the planet. Empaths, psychics and healers are often Water personalities. Integrity, compassion, harmony, creating balance and interacting with integrity can all be Water personality values. These type of people are appreciative of beauty and gifts in life. Since they do have a characteristic of empathy so ingrained in their personalities, Water people may find themselves getting over involved in other people's emotions and problems and often taking on their negative energies. They often become over invested in others and take on a caretaking role mistaking that for love. People of this personality type must guard against trying to save or fix everyone and everything and realize that they can better serve through modeling appreciation, gratitude and joy.

The Road to Success With a Water Element Personality
Water personalities will do well in roles in which they are empowered to use their intuitive and empathetic gifts. They need to have interaction with other people, plants, animals or spirit beings to feed their souls. They will also thrive in situations that allow them to spread their appreciation of beauty and joy. Water people need to be in situations that allow them to take good care of themselves first instead of those that insist their needs are put on a back burner in relation to a client's needs or a person's needs that they are in a significant relationship with. Successful situations also include those that allow the Water person to express who they are and stay true to their values.

Is Magic Real? You'll See It When You Believe It

As we explain in our Kindle book, Learn How To Do Witchcraft, Rituals and Spells with Your Bare Hands, the saying, "You'll see it when you believe it" quoted by such masters as Wayne Dyer is so very true when it comes to finding out is magic real. Magic is all around us, but for magic to be "real" in your life, you have to be open to it. The doubting Thomas' must put aside their contempt and suspend their disbelief long enough to try it out for themselves. Only through direct experience will one become a believer and so it should be. We never try to prove to one of these doubters or the skeptical or answer the question is magic real. Instead we invite them to try out some beginning spells and magic rituals and prove it to themselves. Our Kindle Witchcraft Spell Books series is a good place to start.

Faith or Belief Versus Experience
If you look up the word faith in the dictionary you'll find:
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability

2. belief that is not based on proof (he had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact)

In the biblical sense, faith is "the general persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true" (dictionary.com). Basically, this means that faith is a belief that something is true whether or not there is proof. I think most people would agree with this dictionary interpretation. But for magical practitioners, faith is action. Magical practitioners have to have direct experience or have observed it for themselves to believe it is true. Until that happens, everything is still in the hypothesis stage.

So if "you'll see it when you believe it" and as a magical practitioner "you have to see it to believe it", what do you do to make these two statements work for you? Simple, you take action. Pick any beginner spells or magic rituals (you'll find plenty on our blog) and do one. In fact, do it daily for 40 days, keeping an open mind without placing judgment on it as to whether magic is real or not. During that 40 days, see for yourself what effect the spell or magic ritual has on your life. Ask the Universe for signs and guidance along the way and determine what is true for you and what is not. That will give you the data you need to determine whether something is true or worthy of your "faith".

Magical Payback
Whatever you pay into your magical practice pays you back... with interest! At the end of your 40 days, whether you decide the spell or magic ritual you have performed daily is worthy of your faith and belief or not, you will have paid into your magical practice... and your practice will eventually pay you back, regardless of whether you decide to have faith in that particular magical ritual or not. The Universe is ultimately fair and a great keeper of accounts. Magical acts are any acts of intention and are recorded in the Akashic records. Any magical acts you perform will pay you back, perhaps when you least expect it.

So what do you have to lose except maybe a little time over the next 40 days and a bit of skepticism? And just think, if there really is real magic, all you have to gain by exploring it for yourself and deciding to believe.

The Magic of Silence

If you continually find yourself surrounded and bombared by the noisy, hustle and bustle of everyday life, maybe you need a little magic of silence in your life. To be effective at any magical practice and to be in a mode to receive information from Spirit helpers and the Universe you have to be able to listen and make a connection from Spirit. With all the noise and rushing around trying to get through our daily to-do lists, we often forget to listen and shut down our ability to hear our inner voices of guidance.

Practicing the Magic of Outer Silence
Practicing inner and outer silence can increase and develop your ability to hear the Universe and its messages. Outer silence is usually easier initially for people to achieve. You can do this through exercises such as picking a segment of your day, maybe 2 hours, that you choose to be silent; in other words a time when you choose to not talk at all. If being at work or school prohibits your being silent for that long a period, then pick a time on the weekend or a day off. Try to avoid surrounding yourself with too much noise from other sources during this time also. For example, don't have a radio or TV on. You can still go about doing chores or just sit quietly, meditate or read an uplifting book. Maintaining silence gives you more of a chance to actively listen or watch for messages from the Universe.

Practicing the Magic of Inner Silence
If you absolutely cannot work the practice of outer silence into your day, you can work on inner silence instead on that day. This means quieting the internal mind chatter that we have so much of the time. As you go through your day take notice of the type of thoughts that go through your mind triggered by what you see and hear and how many of those thoughts you have. As you notice one of these thoughts popping up, begin to quiet the stream of thought by putting your attention on your breathing or a physical sensation such as your feet striking the ground as you walk. Anytime a thought comes up mechanically, put your attention back on a physical sensation. Consistent practice of this exercise will allow you to begin taking control of quieting your internal chatter quickly which opens space for you to listen to your inner voice of guidance.

As you practice inner and outer silence, you will begin to notice that these two forms of silence influence each other. The more silent you become on the outside, the more silent you'll become on the inside and vice versa. When you let the magic of silence into your life, you allow Spirit to guide your life and open yourself to partnering with the Universe to bring all sorts of magic into your life.
