How to Avoid Getting Run Over by a Beer Truck

If you haven't noticed already, 2012 is a year of STRONG contrast! Some manifestations occur with amazing ease. On the other hand, there is a lot more resistance, which pops up everywhere--from the grocery checkout line to getting a permit you really need for your business. Like we said, contrast.

<><> What This Means Magically <><>
From a magical point of view, it means that both the Law of Accident and the Law of Intention are operating with equal intensity on the planet during the year. That's good and bad news.

With the Law of Intention operating strongly, your desires will tend to manifest faster ... and more easily.

With the Law of Accident operating intensely, you are subject to weird "accidents" occurring in your life whenever your intention isn't specifically focused.

The year 2012 is like a magical catch-22.

<><> What to Do About the Magical Catch-22 <><>
To successfully navigate these two major forces operating on Earth right now, the first step is to clearly define your intentions. Dedicate as much attention as you can to these intentions, avoiding negative emotions and thoughts at all costs.

But you also have to cover yourself since you aren't likely to be a perfect angel all the time. You will have moments of negative emotion, unproductive thoughts, and full blown temper tantrums. These are the times when you are most vulnerable to the Law of Accident. That is when the beer truck comes unseen around the corner and turns your car into a road pancake. Whoops! Accident.

So magically you need to take steps to protect yourself from the Law of Accident. Here are two steps that can easily do just that.

1. Wear a Psychic Shield: The seven-pointed Faery Star pendant, hung on a silver chain around your neck makes an excellent protector. The Faery Star has circling energy that never ceases, and, once keyed to your energies, puts a psychic shield around you--repelling beer trucks and other unwanted accidents! Read more about the Psychic Shield HERE. http://www.shamanschool.com/resources/articles/faerystar.html

2. Be Curious Rather Than React: When a moment of resistance pops up in your life, stop yourself before you react negatively. Instead, become very curious about the event. Say to yourself, "I wonder that this means?" Assume a child-like sense of innocent wonder. The state of wonder makes you "invisible" to the Law of Accident ... not to mention helps you rack up karmic brownie points!

3. Practice Daily Magical Rituals: Magic rituals move us out of ordinary time and space ... and thus out of the way of unexpected beer trucks. Done daily, magic rituals help us develop strong relationships with higher beings and powers, who tend to "look out" for us. Check out the Daily Rituals ebook for ideas. http://bit.ly/xOeais

Under the Law of Accident, bad things happen to good people ... and good things happen to bad people. It's just a toss up. But under the higher Law of Intention, events happen that we choose. Much more enjoyable, don't you think?

Made New Year's Resolutions? Start Smaller for Bigger Magic!

It is a very popular practice to make New Year's Resolutions ... and then we expect the magic to happen! Somehow we will magically lose 25 pounds or double our income or stop smoking all because of this popular "ritual" called "New Year's Resolutions."

There is magic in stating an intention, of course. Magically, any intentional act is a magical act, so stating an intention is indeed a magical act. However, for an intention to come to manifestation, another factor is needed: attention. More specifically, one needs regular or daily attention an intention to bring it to fruition. Magically, applying energy to an intention through attention is a key to manifestation.

So this year, instead of starting with a New Year's Resolution, which requires 365 days of attention (that's kind of a lot), how about starting with a shorter period of days? Most spiritual practices recognize the period of 40 days as a powerful length of time during which to bring an intention to fruition.

The Power of 40 Days
Knowing that you will be doing a practice for 40 days gives your mind the satisfaction of knowing that there is a beginning and an end to the practice. The mind is a very busy machine and it is important to keep this machine occupied and entertained as you do focus on an intention so that the mind doesn't throw too many road blocks in the way.

More importantly, 40 days is an adequate length of time to allow all phases of your passion to manifest. For instance, in the beginning, you will probably be excited and focused, and experience good results. During the middle period of the 40 days, you might experience interruptions, inconveniences, and forgetfulness. Then you will probably experience a renewed focus on your intention. By the end of 40 days, you will definitely have had plenty of time to practice putting daily attention on your intention, see the benefits, and notice the difference on the days during which you forget.

The 40 day period will guide you in developing a personal working relationship with the Universe and with your own magical practice. Each day that you focus your attention you will develop a new perspective to help you unleash your creative powers.

You are truly the creator of your own reality.  You will find that you have a greater belief in your ability to create a reality that pleases you, and you will begin to know that you can be, do and have everything you choose. By the end of 40 days, you will see actual demonstrations of your own creative abilities.  You will know that you can create anything of your choosing. Are you ready to begin?

Time Acts Funny in 2012

You may or may not have had personal experiences of time doing funny things toward the end of last year and early into this year, but many people have. For some people, time seems to be moving faster than ever before. For other people, time is slowing down.

Whether time is speeding up or slowing down for you—or doing different things at different times—doesn’t really matter. The point is that time will most likely continue to act funny in 2012. More importantly time is reactive to your intentions and attentions.

Time, like every other force in the Universe, has always been reactive to our intentions, but it is even more responsive in 2012. So if you find yourself in a hurry, worrying that you won’t have enough time to get everything done, time will probably speed up in response. On the contrary, if you feel as if you are waiting interminably for something to manifest in your life, time will appear to crawl slower than molasses.

Luckily, if time isn’t moving according to your desires, you can change it. If time is too speedy for you, slow yourself down. Notice factors about the moment. Is the sun out ? Is the weather notable? Are people smiling at you? Could you be smiling at someone else? When we “take the time” to notice a moment, time takes a break … and stops speeding along.

If you feel that time is crawling along too slowly, speed it up. Get busy. Take your attention off the clock. Fill your schedule and time, and you will be amazed at how fast time will run … and how much you will get done at the same time!

Remember, time is not static. Time is different according to you and your current perspective. Change your perspective … and time will change for you. It’s magic … really!

Shamanic Secret #16 - Faith is an Action, Not a Belief

The word "faith" has always generated a lot of controversy,
especially when used in conjunction with religion, magic,
shamanism, God ... anything that stirs up the emotions and can
rock the very foundation of our souls.

But what is faith really? Is it a belief? Is it a knowingness?

Look up faith in a dictionary and you'll find something like
this:

1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's
ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the
hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

Biblically, faith is "the general persuasion of the mind that a
certain statement is true" (dictionary.com). So basically faith
is a belief that something is true whether or not there is proof.
This is according to standard dictionary definitions ... and
probably the opinion of the man on the street, too.

<><> Shamanic Secret: Faith as Action <><>
But the above definition doesn't really work for shamans and
magical practitioners. To believe something to be true, a
shamanic or magical practitioner has to have personally observed
or experienced the phenomenon. Until then, everything remains in
the category of hypothesis. That's all well and good, but then
how does someone--like you or the average Joe on the
street--figure out whether something is true or worthy of
"faith"?

You take action!

Pick any magical or shamanic statement and determine for yourself
whether or not you should put your faith in it. Practice any
daily magical ritual for 40 days and see if it does what it is
proclaimed to do. Do any shamanic exercise for 40 days and see
whether your life is affected or changed--for the better or the
worse! In the immortal words of Nike, "Just do it!"

Don't bother asking a shamanic practitioner whether you should
believe in love spells. Don't bother asking a magical
practitioner whether the Tarot is accurate. Why? Because you will
only be getting THEIR experiences and observations. THEIR stuff
may not work for YOU. So YOU have to determine what is true and
not true for you, as a person, as a magical practitioner, as a
wanna-be shaman ... whatever. Whatever YOU want to be. Whatever
YOU want to have faith in ... figure out whether it's true for
YOU first.

<><> An Example <><>
What do we mean by the 40 day experiment? Pick any daily ritual.
One that we talk about a lot is the Sun Candle blessing. Sun
Yellow is the color that nourishes Spirit, is the color of joy,
and can be a "pick-me-up" when you are feeling blue. Should you
have faith in the Sun Candle? You decide. Do the following for 40
days and see what happens, if anything, in your life.

Get a bright Sun Yellow candle (no orange or red overtones).
Have some paper or wooden matches handy.
Sit in the South facing North, with the Sun Candle in front of
you.
Light the Sun Candle with the matches (no lighters!) and wait
until the flame steadies into a bright tall flame.
Cup your hands around the flame and say in a voice of command:

"Child of Wonder,
Child of Flame,
Nourish my Spirit,
and Protect My Aim!"

Keep the Sun Candle burning for 30 minutes (remain in the same
room as the Sun Candle). After 30 minutes, blow out the candle
(do not snuff the flame).
Write down how you feel, and keep jotting notes for 40 days.

At the end of 40 days of this same action, ask yourself, "Is the
Sun Candle worthy of my faith as a daily magical ritual?"
Answer the question for yourself! If you find it not worthy of
your faith, you have not lost anything, least of all your time
and effort. You will have paid into your magical practice ... and
your practice will eventually pay you back. If you find the Sun
Candle worthy of your faith, you have not only paid into your
practice but you have also gained a new magical tool to put in
your toolkit! It's all to the good ... Best of all, it is all
YOURS!
