Feeling Stressed? Magical Ways to Feel Fantastic Anyway

We all have stress in our lives, but we don't have to put up with feeling stressed when we have magical interventions. Rooting to Let Mother Earth Soothe You
Rooting is a ritual that connects you with Mother Earth and lets you ground out negative energies into the Earth. Since the Earth is huge and able to absorb lots of negative emotions, this ritual is very grounding and can help you deal with stressful times and events. Basically, with this ritual you are flowing excess energies of any kind into the Earth and then pulling up grounding and nourishing Earth energies into your body. Here's how you do it.

1. Sit in a comfortable position making sure your heels are touching the ground. Some people find it useful to close their eyes for this ritual so if you find you have trouble "feeling" or sensing your "roots", try closing your eyes.

2. Feel yourself extending roots from your feet and imagine or "see" roots growing out of your heels into the Earth, through your shoes if you are wearing any, through the flooring, into the sub-flooring, and down into the Earth through the topsoil continuing down through all the layers until you reach bedrock.

3. Once your roots have reached bedrock burrow into it and lock them in.

4. Sit for several minutes breathing. Each time you exhale, push excess stress and tension or any other unwanted energies through the roots into the bedrock.

5. Each time you inhale, pull up minerals and energies from the Earth for stability and balance.

6. When you feel relaxed and nourished, pull the roots back up through each of the layers and going back up into your feet. Be sure not to stand up before pulling your roots back into your body or it can cause you to be sore for a few days.

You can use this ritual as much as you need to and don't need any special magical training to start using it right away. Feeling Stressed? Try a Little Bathtub Magic

This is one of my favorite magic rituals: the bathtub and shower litany. It's the perfect antidote for anyone who feels stressed, tired, frustrated, angry, or sore. Basically, it's a magical ritual that alleviates any excess Fire energy.

Excess Fire energy can take the form of bodily inflammation and soreness, emotional frustration and anger, and repetitive mental thoughts that won't stop. If you feel any of these types of symptoms, especially at the end of a long tiring day, try some bathtub magic.

Bathtub Magic to Remove Excess Fire Energy
The bathtub and shower litany is a little magic ritual that helps you get rid of excess Fire energy in the bathtub. It works because, from a magical viewpoint, water carries Fire energy. When you are in the shower, the water flowing from the shower can pull any excess Fire energy from your body, mind, and Spirit, and flow it down the drain. For this ritual to work, you combine your intention with some visualization and the magic litany.

Here's how you do the bathtub and shower litany:

Shower Instructions
Set the showerhead so the water hits you at the base of the skull and the water runs as evenly as possible over the back and front of your body. Let the shower hit the back of the neck, where we tend to develop a lot of tension (in the shoulders), and run your hands down your body to bring the fire down to your feet. The water temperature should be cool (just below body temperature). If the water is too cold it will create tension, and if the water is too hot it won't carry much fire.

As the water is running over your body and down the drain, picture your body as a glowing heating coil. Radiate any flame band energies outward in any direction. The tension will follow natural body flows. Picture these energy bands mixing with the water and flowing down the drain while simultaneously repeating the following litany aloud. Say it out loud. Keep saying it until you feel that the flame is gone. Speak the litany with authority and power.

"All the tension, all the strain,
All the pain with excess flame,
Flow with water, down the drain!"

Bathtub Instructions
Fill the tub as full as possible with cool (just below body temperature) water, but not cold water! Lie back with your feet at the drain end and as much of your body as possible under the water. Using the glowing heating coil idea, radiate the excess Fire energy into the water, warming the water next to your skin. Stir the water each time this seems successful. After 3 or 4 "stirrings", open the tub drain and continue to lay back and radiate the Fire energy as the water level drops around you. Begin using the above litany as the water drains from the tub. Continue the process until all the water is gone from the tub.

Emotional Alchemy

See if this scenario sounds familiar. You're under a lot of stress. You feel irritable, angry, or depressed, and you wish with all your heart that you could "snap out of it" but you just seem to be attracting more of the same. Every attempt to jolly yourself out of the blues just seems to frustrate you more ...  nothing changes, your emotional state is like a snowball rolling downhill and everyone is walking on eggshells around you.

If that scenario rings a bell, then you might need some emotional alchemy. Originally, alchemy was the art and science of transforming base metals like lead into the precious metal gold. Today in magic, alchemy is the art of transforming anything from a lower to a higher state. So if your emotions are hanging out in the lower tones and you can't get any relief, try some alchemy.

Surprisingly, emotional alchemy doesn't require candles, sage, wands, or firebowls. It's much simpler than that. All you have to do is reprogram one single part of yourself. One of my good friends has a saying, "What wires together fires together." In terms of magic, this means that your body, mind, and Spirit are wired together in certain ways, and under stress these three parts tend to respond in the same way all the time.

To see how this works just look for a stress indicator. This could be a fidget, a facial expression, the need to eat, fast talking, waving your hands, smoking a cigarette, or drinking a Coke. These are all responses that occur when you're under stress. Let's take one example - drinking a
Coke - and see how mind, body, and Spirit wire together. If you tend to drink Coke when you're under stress, here's the sequence of what might be happening:
  • Mind: Has the thought "I can't do this."
  • Body: Automatically reaches for a Coke with the right hand and takes a drink.
  • Spirit: Checks out and leaves body.
  • Result: Feelings of anger, depression, irritability
Mind's thought automatically causes the body to grab the Coke with the right hand and causes Spirit to leave. Every time you are under stress the same sequence "fires together" over and over again - and Spirit, the part of you that guides you through life toward your birth vision, is constantly absent. Since Mind is like a computer, it can't change its program. Only Spirit can do that. You end up with a broken record, with mind repeating "I can't do this" and body drinking lots of Coke. It's becomes a cycle that is almost impossible to snap out of unless you bring Spirit back into the equation.

So how do you rewire this strange sequence so you can transform your emotional responses? Just change one small part of the wiring. In the example above, you might notice when body reaches for the Coke with the right hand. Stop. Switch hands. Reach for the Coke with your left hand. This automatically causes Spirit to stay in body and be present - it forces you, Spirit, to be present. Only Spirit can make those kinds of changes. And when Spirit is present, you are able to handle the stressful situation differently.

In fact, just bringing Spirit into a stressful situation changes things - automatically. This is the alchemy at work. Suddenly, even if just for a moment, you feel lighter, less burdened, and even happy. Now if you pause in that moment and notice the difference, the change will become more permanent. You, all three parts, will develop a memory about this new feeling and a new set of wiring will be created. Now when you find yourself in a stressful situation, you'll have a choice. You can do the same old response of feeling depressed or angry (right hand reaching for the Coke) or you can change the game plan and reach for the Coke with the left hand.

Emotional alchemy doesn't mean you'll choose the happier path every time. It just gives you a choice. So if you want to expand the number of choices you have in your life, look at the situations where you get in trouble and figure out what's wiring and firing together. Then unwire and rewire just one piece of that equation and you'll have a new choice. Imagine what would happen if you did this in every area of your life. Hmmm ...!

Is Your Life Falling Apart? Magical Rituals Can Help ...

Do you feel like your life is falling apart? If so, then you may take comfort in the fact that you are not alone ... if, of course, you are of the camp that "Misery loves company!"

But if you are more of a "do it yourself" kind of person, or you would rather not sit around commiserating with others, then take heart in these two facts:

1. It is not surprising that your life is falling apart right
now--this is part of Earth's current planetary cycle.

2. Magical rituals can help you restore balance and order to your
life.

Why is Your Life Falling Apart Now?
Unlike other transitions in Earth's echo-cycles, where the planet
has experienced pole-shifts and species extinction, in this
particular planetary transition there won't be massive
extinctions ... and that's good.

What isn't so good is the fact that humans will be bearing the
brunt of this transition. As a race, we will tend to feel worse
and may watch certain parts of our lives disintegrate before our
eyes. In this planetary transition, the race will not go extinct
but certain parts of our lives and our personalities may die off.


At the same time, our Emotional Centers, the part of us that is
least developed, will begin to awaken and become more sensitive.
This explains why we feel more sensitive, touchy, and affected
than ever before. The parts of our lives that are mechanical,
overly materialistic, or otherwise barriers to the development of
Emotional Center will also fall apart.

That's the "why" ... now for the magical fix!

Magical Rituals That Can Help
Practical daily magical rituals can really support us during this
transition and keep us sane. We list three of our favorites here.

Magical Ritual #1: Command Yourself to be Present
Most of us are aware that being present is one gift that we can
always give ourselves, for magic exists most strongly in the
present. If you find yourself wandering through past mistakes or
feeling fearful about future events, simply command yourself to
be present. Look at yourself in a mirror. Really stare into your
eyes and connect with yourself. Then, in a strong voice of
command, say to yourself: "Come to present time!" You may have to
repeat this command up to three times, and then you will feel
yourself coming back into the "now." In the present, all things
are possible.

Magical Ritual #2: Swing Your Troubles Away
One of the best uses for a pendulum is to "clear" difficulties or
snags in your life. Simply dangle your pendulum from your
dominant hand while you visualize a current life problem. Begin
to swing the pendulum in a clockwise direction as you "see" the
situation resolving in your mind. When your pendulum stops
swinging of its own accord, the trouble has been cleared. Trust
the power of your intent (and your pendulum) and release the
problem from your consciousness. If you find yourself thinking
about the problem during the day, change your focus to something
else ... like a pink elephant!

Magical Ritual #3: Shield Yourself
To protect yourself from the rush of emotional energy being
released on the planet right now, wear a psychic shield. One of
our favorites is the Seven Arrows shield, which is an eternally
spinning symbol on an amulet that you wear on a necklace. Also
called the Faery Star, the Seven Arrows is a potent symbol that
can create sacred space around you wherever you go.
