Ritual Magic: Spells and Rituals for the New Year

Here it is a new year already and while most people are making New Year's Resolutions, magical practitioners make yearly aims as a great way to practice ritual magic all year long. Did you know that 45% of Americans usually make New Year's Resolutions and that only 8% of them actually are successful at achieving their resolutions? A great percentage of those who make resolutions keep them in the first week, 75% in fact. But by the time 6 months have passed that number dwindles down to only 46% still sticking to their resolutions. As you can see the statistics aren't very encouraging for making and keeping a New Year's resolution.

A Yearly Aim
A yearly aim for magical practitioners is a bit different. With the yearly aim the goal is to learn, experience, discover, and bring magic into your life. This yearly aim can change form with each month or with each season, with accompanying daily rituals as exercises. This cuts down on the redundancy and brings new life to the aim. It is important to pause daily or weekly to record results and reflections, noting and appreciating the changes and the magic.

Picking a Yearly Aim
To get started with a magical yearly aim, do some reflection on where you are magically. If you have not taken magic seriously before or are just starting out exploring a magical path, the aim could be answering the question "Is Magic Real" for yourself. You can also ask for guidance from higher powers and beings for some direction on picking an aim. You want to have an aim that is something you can observe progress on, but leave it open enough to explore it in a variety of ways. Give some thought to the wording of your aim as it can make an enormous difference.

One of our students felt she was always tense and stressed and although she had tried numerous practices to reduce the stress, still felt it in her body. She decided to set an aim that would help her find where the tension and stress came from, where it lived in her body and how to deal with it through magical means. Unfortunately, she worded her aim that year as "To observe and explore my tensions and stresses". That year was consequently a very stressful year. The Universe definitely gave her plenty of opportunity to observe and explore stress, which after all is what she asked for. The next year, having learned a valuable lesson, her aim was "I want to observe freedom in my life and practice feeling free". That made a much more enjoyable year for her. The following year was even better as her aim for that year was "To observe and explore the abundances in my life and the ease with which they come." As you can well imagine that year brought about many wonderful things with very little effort. Think carefully about the exact wording of your aim before settling on the final one.

Planning for Successful Aim
After you have picked your yearly aim, it is time to get a plan for specifically what magic spells and rituals or resources you will explore to achieve your aim. Take the example of "Is Magic Real". Here are some examples of the exercises you could pick from each month that would lead you to explore this question.
These are just a few examples to get you started. Pick something each month that you can experiment with and explore that will lead you to answer the question "Is Magic Real?" Throughout the process, you want to be sure to take the time to record your observations, reflections and results in your Book of Shadows. This helps you look back over the year, see where you started, what you have achieved and help form an aim for the next year.

Whether you adopt daily rituals into your life, strengthen your use of ritual magic, explore other magical realms, gain a greater understanding of yourself or prove that magic is indeed real to yourself, the main goal with a yearly aim is to invite magic into your life, make it a part of your daily life and to learn to appreciate the process.

Is Magick Real? I'm Here to Testify!

Is Magick Real? You betcha, and I'm here to testify with a recent experience. I am in the advanced magic class at the Esoteric School and have been actively practicing magic for 12 years now. When I moved to my family farm a couple of years ago, one of the first things I did was put an omnil (3 dimensional protection energy shield) up around the property. Boy, did that pay off this last week.

I had to be out of town for a few days and where we live has been really dry and HOT! I got a call from a neighbor on my cell phone and through the bad connection all I could hear was fire, farm, near barn. I couldn't believe it. I knew my omnil should have protected the property from something like that. Could it have failed, could I have done the procedure incorrectly or keyed it wrong? No, I decided that there must be more to the story and chose not to panic until I could get to a place with better phone reception. Once back in the land of cellphone service I started getting calls from other neighbors with the news that yes there was a fire and the fire department had put it out. But to their amazement the fire went down the road about 2 miles and stopped right at our property line. Pictures sent to me over the magic of the Smart Phone verified that. I could see a distinct line where the blackened, charred remains of grass stopped in all directions not touching our property.

Magic has served me well many times over the years and this is just one more example for me that the answer to the question, Is Magic Real?, is a resounding YES!

Is Magic Real? Yup, Read Why Here

Is Magic real? Yes, it certainly is and has been around for thousands of years. Everyone is born with the abilities to do magic, but our society doesn't place the importance on it that it once did. This causes people today to wonder... is magic real? We see movies, read books, and watch TV shows today showing wonderful magical feats and want to know if that is what real magic is like. The answer to that is Yes and no. The media gives you an idea of what magic can do, but it's not really accurate. For example, Harry Potter and friends use their wands for all sorts of procedures when in reality a wand is the tool for Air energies and only useful for techniques using air energies.
What can you do with real magic then? Lots! Here are just a few things that can be accomplished with real magic.
  • Manifest what you want in life
  • Use magical self defense techniques to protect yourself and your sacred space
  • Use divination to see what the future may hold
  • Communicate with higher powers and beings
  • Create spells and rituals
  • Use magical healing techniques
One of the principles we teach by is that students' of magic and shamanism need to experience things for themselves rather than taking anyone's word. With this in mind we'd love you to check out our article "Is Magic Real". There you'll find more topics of what you can do with real magic, some explanations of how magic works and a free magical exercise you can try out for yourself. You can also look at all the other magical articles on our website and our blog to see other things magic can do for you. Consider signing up for our email list and be among the first to receive the latest magical articles. Try out the exercises we give and then it's up to you to decide for yourself – Is Magic Real?

Is Magic Real Without Faith?

"Is Magic Real?" "Is Witchcraft Real?" "Is magic real and can I really do magic like what I see in the Harry Potter movies?" These are without a doubt the number one questions we get asked daily. The short version answer is Yes, magic is real and you can really do it. The longer version answer is that real magic is not quite what you see in the Harry Potter movies. Some principles, practices, rituals and magical tools have a resemblance to what you see in these fantasy shows and books, but there are also many discrepancies and magical happenings that are purely fictional. For example, Harry and his friends use their Wands as multi-purpose magical tools. Real magic uses the Wand as the tool for channeling or flowing the Air element. Since a Wand is made of wood, it is terrible for conducting Fire energies because wood burns. No real Wand can continuously conduct all four magical elements on a consistent basis and survive.

Back to our question, "Is Magic Real?" Again the short answer is yes, but part of the longer answer is for any individual, what you pay into your magical or witchcraft practice pays you back. So in other words, WE know magic is real and that spellwork works, daily magical rituals can improve one's life and daily problems can be resolved, but if magic is not real to YOU or if you don't devote time to the practice then you probably aren't going to see results and you might then decide it is not real. Rather than asking us, Is Magic Real?, we'd rather you take the information in our resource articles, blog, ebooks, courses and Kindle books, and try the exercises out for yourself. Then you can answer the question for yourself about Is Magic Real.

What we believe people are really asking when they say Is Magic Real, is will magic work for me, will magic help me get what I want out of life or can magic improve my life. Whereas we know it will, it is a difficult question for us to answer for any one individual because we don't want you to take our word for it. The way we teach witchcraft and magic is by hypothesis. We want you to read the material or listen to techniques, spellwork procedures and rituals in courses and then try them for yourselves exactly as taught. Exactly as taught is important because magic is a precision science and altered procedures produce altered results. This is one reason some people find magic does not work for them. They don't follow directions exactly and either get results they don't want or they get no results. After you give the procedures a try following the descriptions exactly, then YOU decide for yourself based on your experience and observation whether magic can be useful and helpful in your life, whether magic really does work for you and answer the question for yourself, Is Magic Real.

Really the only true way you will be a believer in magic is to try it yourself. We have found over the many years of teaching that students may want to believe or say they do but on a deeper level they really aren't convinced. We don't see it as our job to convince anyone or defend magical practices in any way. It is for each person to try out and experience for themselves and come to their own conclusions. Once you produce your own proof, you will find your own faith and belief in magic. By providing the learning tools, we offer anyone interested in pursuing a magical life a way to achieve it.

Once you try out the rituals and techniques for yourself, you open the door for it and can watch the miracles manifest before your eyes. You will then have your own proof and know that magical practices are real, effective and useful in your everyday practical life. If you are ready to begin your journey into magic, a good place to start is with Kindle books. You don't even have to have a Kindle to access them. A Smart Phone, tablet or any computer will do it. So get your copies now and let the Magic Begin!

Is Magic Real? You'll See It When You Believe It

As we explain in our Kindle book, Learn How To Do Witchcraft, Rituals and Spells with Your Bare Hands, the saying, "You'll see it when you believe it" quoted by such masters as Wayne Dyer is so very true when it comes to finding out is magic real. Magic is all around us, but for magic to be "real" in your life, you have to be open to it. The doubting Thomas' must put aside their contempt and suspend their disbelief long enough to try it out for themselves. Only through direct experience will one become a believer and so it should be. We never try to prove to one of these doubters or the skeptical or answer the question is magic real. Instead we invite them to try out some beginning spells and magic rituals and prove it to themselves. Our Kindle Witchcraft Spell Books series is a good place to start.

Faith or Belief Versus Experience
If you look up the word faith in the dictionary you'll find:
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability

2. belief that is not based on proof (he had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact)

In the biblical sense, faith is "the general persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true" (dictionary.com). Basically, this means that faith is a belief that something is true whether or not there is proof. I think most people would agree with this dictionary interpretation. But for magical practitioners, faith is action. Magical practitioners have to have direct experience or have observed it for themselves to believe it is true. Until that happens, everything is still in the hypothesis stage.

So if "you'll see it when you believe it" and as a magical practitioner "you have to see it to believe it", what do you do to make these two statements work for you? Simple, you take action. Pick any beginner spells or magic rituals (you'll find plenty on our blog) and do one. In fact, do it daily for 40 days, keeping an open mind without placing judgment on it as to whether magic is real or not. During that 40 days, see for yourself what effect the spell or magic ritual has on your life. Ask the Universe for signs and guidance along the way and determine what is true for you and what is not. That will give you the data you need to determine whether something is true or worthy of your "faith".

Magical Payback
Whatever you pay into your magical practice pays you back... with interest! At the end of your 40 days, whether you decide the spell or magic ritual you have performed daily is worthy of your faith and belief or not, you will have paid into your magical practice... and your practice will eventually pay you back, regardless of whether you decide to have faith in that particular magical ritual or not. The Universe is ultimately fair and a great keeper of accounts. Magical acts are any acts of intention and are recorded in the Akashic records. Any magical acts you perform will pay you back, perhaps when you least expect it.

So what do you have to lose except maybe a little time over the next 40 days and a bit of skepticism? And just think, if there really is real magic, all you have to gain by exploring it for yourself and deciding to believe.

Is Magic Real? Check for Yourself

Is Magic Real? We encourage you to discover the answer for yourself. A good place to start discovering the answer to the question Is Magic Real is with magic rituals. A very powerful ancient ritual to start with is the Exit Ritual. The Exit Ritual is one of three parts of the Navajo Beauty Way. The Exit Ritual is a contact and greeting ritual that connects you with higher powers and beings. It is totally non-denominational so it doesn't matter what Higher Power you believe in or what if any religious practices you adhere to. The Exit Ritual also brings you a sense of peace and serenity, helps you establish relationships with higher beings that can help you gain information or work on manifestations. The Exit Ritual also realigns our chi or life force, which can become distorted from working and living in buildings with strong electromagnetic fields.

Doing the Exit Ritual
The Exit Ritual is done every time you leave an enclosed space. That might be your home, a building of any kind, a car and other similar places. Here's what you do when you get outside.

1. Look up towards the sky, extend your focus and out loud say, "Sky Above".

2. Keep focusing awareness above you and now extend your focus into the Earth and say out loud, "And Earth Below".

3. Keep awareness focused now both above and below and out loud say, "I Greet You".

4. Pause for a few moments longer and be aware of either some kind of change within yourself (change of attitude, new awareness), a change in the environment (sudden breeze, change in color of sky, animal or bird suddenly appearing, plant life becoming vividly visible), or a message from Sky or Earth heard like a voice in your head (answer to question, new direction, guidance).

5. You can also raise arms in a V toward Sky for step 1 and lower them in a V towards the Earth for step 2. If you are in a public place with a lot of people around you may initially feel that doing this makes you uncomfortable. That's OK, you don't have to use the arm motions. If you find this embarrassment factor coming into play you also don't have to say the words too loud, but you do need to vocalize them. You'll probably find with time that most people won't really notice what you are doing (they're more concerned with their own happenings) and that it will look to them like you are just standing still for a brief time trying to remember something.

Is Magic Real? Check It for Yourself
After you have done the Exit Ritual for a period of time, stop. That's right, stop doing it for a few days. Our approach to magic is that everything is a hypothesis and life is a grand experiment. After not doing the ritual for a few days evaluate the difference for yourself. How do you feel? How are your days different? Are your interactions any different? How is your life in general any different? Give it a try and check it out for yourself. We bet you'll find that doing the Exit Ritual will have a positive impact on your life. If you find this is true for you, start doing it again and if you feel like experimenting with more great rituals, check out our Kindle book, LEARN HOW TO DO WITCHCRAFT RITUALS AND SPELLS WITH YOUR BARE HANDS.

Is Magic Real

Is magic real is the number one question we're asked over and over again. The simple answer we could give is, Yes, magic is real. But in our mission to spread real magic to more and more people, we start with a different answer. First when answering the 'is magic real' question, we like to give people a way to answer this question for themselves. We urge them to not take our word or anyone else's word, but to try magic out for themselves and decide is magic real for themselves.

To accomplish this we point out that a good place to start is with the articles on our website and our blog. Many of these articles have exercises that can be tried out to test your own results. This is a good way to try out some safe, simple beginning magical techniques with no investment. You can read all our articles, subscribe to our newsletter and/or subscribe to our blog all for free.

The first article we recommend people to start with is our Is Magic Real article. Through this article, people can get an idea of what real magic is all about. This weeds out people who are only interested in fantasy type magic by explaining how real magic works and what it can bring to one's life. It also presents a magical exercise that people can try out to get a taste of what real magic is like.

After that the answer to the question 'is magic real becomes one each individual can answer for themselves based on his or her own experience. Those who decide a magical path is for them can find more serious study options on our website to fit any budget. Whether it is books, ebooks, homestudy courses or our new Kindle book series, we have the resources to help you get started on your magical journey.

What is Real Magic Anyway?

What is real magic? With all the media attention through books, TV shows and movies, it can be confusing to some people what real magic is all about and how it differs from the practices and techniques they watch Harry Potter and his friends perform. Often people see these amazing things done and wonder is magic real at all. Yes, it is real even though not quite as dramatic as portrayed by the entertainment industry. Real magic in the real world can be every bit as amazing though in the things it can accomplish and changes it can make in people's lives. I believe that makes it even more spectacular than anything I've seen Harry do.

Define Real Magic
Real magic is first of all a precision science. It is the science of:
  • deliberate creation
  • effective prayer
  • manifesting Higher Will on energetic and material planes
  • heightened awareness, selective perception and dynamic, harmonious relationships
Real magic is also the study of intention and a system of creation, not coercion. In fact, every intentional act is an act of magic. It allows us to understand the actual workings of the Universe through direct experience. Real magic is also a path of spiritual growth. A magician must experience and verify everything for him or herself. He or she has the ability to create because he has the tools of divination to test the rituals he creates.

Rules Governing Real Magic
There is a set of rules, we call them "Rules of the Road", that magicians operate under. These are non-changing operational laws of the Universe. The Universe doesn't recognize morals and ethics because they vary from culture to culture and they change over time. Real magic practitioners use these rules to guide them in their practices instead of relying on their own personal value systems.

You can see the entire list of the "Rules of the Road" we practice at the Esoteric School, but there are 2 major rules that they are based on:
1. Whatever is done to the environment or other beings in the environment brings similar effects upon the doer. This is called the Law of Karma by some. The Universe doesn't care why an action was taken, or even if the doer is aware of the Rules of the Road or trained in magic, it only cares that the act was performed and therefore sends the results, negative or positive to the doer.

2. The magical practitioner judges the "goodness" or "badness" of his or her acts, whether conscious or unconscious acts, based on what the Universe reflects back on him or her. The same is true of judging others, entire communities, states or nations.

Magicians wanted
Over time the mundane world and how it operates has gone through great changes. Values, priorities, relationships, technologies, and the way people live are so very different than hundreds of years ago. In the world today, more magicians are needed to update rituals and practices for the issues we face today. Shamans and magicians can create seemingly miraculous things to be a positive influence in world affairs. Each one of you has the ability to learn real magic, raise the consciousness of the planet and create positive manifestations for yourself and others with the help of the Universe. There is nothing very magic about learning real magic. It is a "normal" way of life that most people have simply lost access to.

If you are ready to join forces with other magical practitioners and take control of your birthright to learn real magic, let us know. Our Basic Magic class is online now with no waiting for new classes to begin registration. Share in the comments on our blog below or on our Facebook page what magical topics you would like to learn and we'll send you a discount code for savings on Level I of the Basic Magic course.
