The Power of the Faery Star

The seven pointed star, also known as the Faery or Elven Star in Wiccan traditions, is a septagram-a religious symbol that is sacred to certain pagan or Wiccan traditions. Much less common than the pentagram in magical practice, the seven pointed star has one major advantage over the pentagram as a shield or protective symbol (many magical traditions advocate using the pentagram on the front and back of magical books, such as a Book of Shadows, for protection).

The seven pointed star is created by combining a four pointed square with a three pointed triangle in such a way as to create a continuously circulating figure. This is also the "Seven Arrows" design. To create this star, you have to circulate twice around your starting point, and this creates the continuous circling energy in this figure.

Once set into motion, the seven pointed star continues to circulate forever, making it an eternally spinning shield or protector (start the star in motion by "keying it" with electric blue energy from your finger or Athame). The pentagram, on the other hand, always requires an outside "push" from the base to the tip of any point, and stops transmitting energy once that outer force stops. If you're looking for a protective shield or symbol, the Faery star is a good one to consider.

The number seven is very sacred to many traditions. In some traditions, the four points unite the four magical elements on the planet (Air, Fire, Water, and Earth) with the three points that represent the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). Other traditions consider the seven points to represent the seven directions (North, South, East, West, above, below, and within), the seven colors of the rainbow, the seven planets, the seven alchemical metals, the seven tones of the diatonic scale, or the seven days of the week. This star is also known to some as the Star of the Seven Sisters.

In the Esoteric School, we follow the tradition of the Church of Seven Arrows, and use the seven pointed star on our protective Psychic Shields that we offer to students and the public. These shields have been shown to protect from psychic attack in all directions, deflecting unwanted energies and blackening when attacked. A very, very effective symbol for magical use!

How to Avoid Getting Run Over by a Beer Truck

If you haven't noticed already, 2012 is a year of STRONG contrast! Some manifestations occur with amazing ease. On the other hand, there is a lot more resistance, which pops up everywhere--from the grocery checkout line to getting a permit you really need for your business. Like we said, contrast.

<><> What This Means Magically <><>
From a magical point of view, it means that both the Law of Accident and the Law of Intention are operating with equal intensity on the planet during the year. That's good and bad news.

With the Law of Intention operating strongly, your desires will tend to manifest faster ... and more easily.

With the Law of Accident operating intensely, you are subject to weird "accidents" occurring in your life whenever your intention isn't specifically focused.

The year 2012 is like a magical catch-22.

<><> What to Do About the Magical Catch-22 <><>
To successfully navigate these two major forces operating on Earth right now, the first step is to clearly define your intentions. Dedicate as much attention as you can to these intentions, avoiding negative emotions and thoughts at all costs.

But you also have to cover yourself since you aren't likely to be a perfect angel all the time. You will have moments of negative emotion, unproductive thoughts, and full blown temper tantrums. These are the times when you are most vulnerable to the Law of Accident. That is when the beer truck comes unseen around the corner and turns your car into a road pancake. Whoops! Accident.

So magically you need to take steps to protect yourself from the Law of Accident. Here are two steps that can easily do just that.

1. Wear a Psychic Shield: The seven-pointed Faery Star pendant, hung on a silver chain around your neck makes an excellent protector. The Faery Star has circling energy that never ceases, and, once keyed to your energies, puts a psychic shield around you--repelling beer trucks and other unwanted accidents! Read more about the Psychic Shield HERE. http://www.shamanschool.com/resources/articles/faerystar.html

2. Be Curious Rather Than React: When a moment of resistance pops up in your life, stop yourself before you react negatively. Instead, become very curious about the event. Say to yourself, "I wonder that this means?" Assume a child-like sense of innocent wonder. The state of wonder makes you "invisible" to the Law of Accident ... not to mention helps you rack up karmic brownie points!

3. Practice Daily Magical Rituals: Magic rituals move us out of ordinary time and space ... and thus out of the way of unexpected beer trucks. Done daily, magic rituals help us develop strong relationships with higher beings and powers, who tend to "look out" for us. Check out the Daily Rituals ebook for ideas. http://bit.ly/xOeais

Under the Law of Accident, bad things happen to good people ... and good things happen to bad people. It's just a toss up. But under the higher Law of Intention, events happen that we choose. Much more enjoyable, don't you think?

What to Do If You Were Born with Magical Gifts

While it is true that there is no actual distinction between so-called muggles and magicians, there are certain people who come into this lifetime with more magical skills than others. These skills are usually the result of magical practice in past lifetimes.

Whether you are particularly sensitive to psychic vibrations, can read other people's thoughts, or can heal with energy, developing your magical gifts is important. It will probably also be easier for you than for the average Joe.

How to Further Develop Your Magical Gifts
For most people born with magical gifts, control ends up being the main problem. For instance, if you have the magical gift of hearing other people's thoughts, you may feel overwhelmed every time you step into a crowded situation. If you can heal with energy, or manipulate energy, you may be adversely affected when you come in contact with someone who has negative energy.

What's happening?
Instead of you using your magical gifts, your magical gifts are using you. Not good.

So control is the key. And how do you develop control? There are three magic rituals that can help with control.

Magic Ritual #1: The Electric Blue Spiral
Electric blue is the energy that forms galaxies, and is also the energy associated with most psychic vibrations. It is the same color that is at the base of a gas flame, very bright and very intense. If you have trouble controlling your magical abilities in certain situations, you can focus on electric blue energy to stay in control.

Specifically, you want to see an electric blue spiral spinning inside your chest, near your heart chakra. If you were to "look down" at the blue spiral, you want to see is spinning clockwise. Some people see a laser-like spiral while others see more of an amorphous flame. The goal is to focus all of your magical energy into that spiral.

When you focus on the spiral, your attention (and your energy) is fully contained within yourself. You are shielded, both from projecting your energy outward and from absorbing unwanted energies from other people. This is a useful magical ritual for helping just about anyone control and focus their magical gifts.

Magic Ritual #2: The Electric Blue Bubble
Another way to use electric blue energy in a protective magic ritual is to visualize yourself completely enclosed in a whirling electric blue bubble. Once you can visualize the bubble, see unwanted energies from other people bouncing off this bubble shield.

If you easily read thoughts but don't want to hear anyone else's thoughts in a crowd situation, visualize those thought forms hitting your bubble and bouncing off. This kind of visualization "programs" your shield to protect you against specific things, like thoughts or negative energies. Thus you want to be specific when visualizing what is bouncing off your shield.

Magic Ritual #3: Wear a Faery Star Psychic Shield
The Faery Star is a seven-pointed star, unlike the five-pointed star of the pentagram. The star is created by combining a four-pointed square with a three-pointed triangle in such a way to that it creates a constantly circulating shape, or a constantly circulating shield.

The Faery Stay psychic shield is a useful tool because, once keyed, it becomes an eternally spinning shield. Unlike the pentagram, which always requires a "push" from outside to set it in motion, once set in motion (by keying it with electric blue energy) the Faery Star never stops rotating.

Also known as the Elven Star, this septagram symbol is sacred to many Wiccan and tribal traditions because the number seven is sacred. The number seven is related to the seven planets, the seven notes of the diatonic scale, the seven directions (North, South, East, West, above, below, and within), and the seven colors of the rainbow.

Once keyed, the Faery Star can be used at any time to help you control your magical gifts. Use it as a talisman. Whenever you feel your energies spinning out of control, just reach for your Faery Star pendant (most people wear it on a chain around their neck) and it will ground your energies as well as protect you from unwanted energies.

See a Faery Star psychic shield here.

These three magic rituals have been helping people control their magical gifts for centuries. They take practice, but you'll find that if you start using these rituals regularly they will become second nature after a while, and you won't have to focus so hard to use them. In fact, they will become almost automatic responses in your magical repertoire.
