How to Bless Yourself and Your Family for Harmony

Here is a ritual that will give you a way of how to bless yourself and your family. This ritual is most appropriate done at the end of each day before bedtime to create magic, peace, harmony and health as well as a closer connection between family members. It can also be done with just yourself, with couples or with you and your pets. This is one of the rituals you'll find in our third Kindle book, Learn How to Do Witchcraft Rituals and Spells with Magical Tools. And how it's done.

How to Bless Yourself and Your Family
1. Sit in the South, facing North. Gather and place materials in front of you. You will need:
  • Sun Yellow candle
  • Paper or wooden matches
  • Chalice
  • Sea Salt
  • Spring Water
2. Charge your Sun Candle:
  • Light a sun yellow candle with paper or wooden matches (do not use a lighter)
  • Wait until you have a steady candle flame
  • Cup your hands around the flame, focusing your attention on the candle and flame
  • Say this verse in a voice of command to charge the candle:
"Child of Wonder,
Child of Flame,
Nourish Our Spirits,
And Protect Our Aim."
(if performing ritual on yourself change to Nourish My Spirit and Protect My Aim).

3. Fill the Chalice halfway with spring water, and sprinkle in some sea salt.

4. Blow Water Blue (bright blue) energy into the Chalice as you swirl the water clockwise.

5. Blow Water Blue into the Chalice and swirl the water clockwise before and after saying the verse below and between saying each line of the verse:
"Water and Earth where you are cast,
Let no spell nor adverse purpose last,
Not in accord with me!
Bless these people and bless their space,
Far from here send baneful trace,
Thus my will, so it be!"
(If you are doing this ritual alone, you can change the fourth line to "Bless this person and bless my space.)

6. Holding the Chalice in your left hand, face the person you are blessing (unless you are blessing yourself).

7. Dip the index finger of your right hand into the water, and draw a vertical line down the center of the person's forehead (or on your own). The line should be 1 – 1 ½ inches long.

8. Draw a horizontal line of the same length from left to right through the center of the first line, forming a cross.

9. Draw a clockwise circle starting at the right end of the horizontal line and touching both ends of both lines. As you draw the circle, say to the person, "For the peace of your mind." (If you're doing the ritual alone say "For the peace of my mind.")

10. Repeat the same procedure on the person's chest (or your own), over the heart. As you draw the circle, say, "for the joy of your heart." (Substitute the words "my heart" if you are doing it alone.)

11. Ask the person to take a sip of water from the Chalice and as they do this, say, "And for the health of your body." (If you're doing it alone take a sip and say "And for the health of my body".)

12. If there are two people participating in the ritual, reverse roles have the person that was just blessed now do the blessing to their partner by repeating the process. If there are many people involved in the ritual, one person can bless everyone, and then one person in the group can bless the first person.

13. You can also use the alternate verses, "For the health of your mind." And "For the health of your Spirit".

In addition to being of way of how to bless yourself and your family, this ritual can be useful for giving you a lift when you are down in the dumps or bring you peace when you can't get to sleep. We hope you find the joy, peace and harmony this ancient blessing ritual can bring you and your family by inviting magic into your lives.

Magic That Works: The Use of Color

One of the fascinating studies of magic that works is how to use colors magically. Each of us are energetic beings in a constant state of vibration which is partly determined by the vibrations of all the colors surrounding us all the time. Each color has its own unique vibration and knowing the principles of those allows us to use them for magic that works in our everyday lives. Feng Shui, Pranamonics, magical practices and shamanism all have techniques that use color for healing, making spirit connections, balancing mood and emotional states, and creating manifestations.

Using Color for Magic That Works
You can use color intentionally in your life by gaining an understanding of the effects each color can produce and deliberately choosing which to have around you. Take a look at your clothes, the food you eat, the walls and floors in your home or office, your car, your furniture, artwork and paintings you have hung in the spaces you spend time in, the makeup, jewelry and nail polish you wear and anything else with color that you spend a lot of time around. Compare what vibrations these colors bring to your life versus what energies you want to attract into your life. If you are surrounding yourself with colors that don't match what you want to attract or how you want to present yourself, then make some changes in your wardrobe or environment to include colors that will bring you the type of energies you want. Here is a list of some colors with some of the characteristics of the vibration they emit to get you started. You can find more information on using colors as a technique of magic that works and more color vibration characteristics in our Energy Healing for Self and Others ebook.

Color Vibrations
White – emits a very high vibration that is a pure frequency spiritually. All other colors and the healing properties of each exist in the color white. You can strengthen and increase your aura 3 to 9 feet just by wearing white. White is an Air element color that corresponds to mental processes, thinking or speaking. So for example if you need to study for a test, you might wear white clothes or study in a room with white walls to give you a mental boost. Knowing that the color white could aid you in studying, or giving a speech gives you a way to employ magic that works for your benefit.

Violet/Blue and Green – are vital colors in order for life to exist according to Pranamonics. Violet/blue represent the heavens and green the earth. In a life-threatening situation, surrounding yourself with these colors could give you the first aid needed to survive.

Sun Yellow – is a fire color that represents life force and spirit vitality. Wearing sun yellow clothes can give you a boost in joy, enthusiasm, vitality, movement and nourish you on a cellular level. It is another good color to have around you in a life-threatening situation.

Rose – is a mix of bright red and white. This is a very nourishing color for your heart center and associated with love and purity. It vibrates at a very high spiritually evolved frequency. Pranamonics often pairs white or Sun Yellow with Rose.

Match Colors with Your Elemental Makeup
By deliberately choosing the colors you surround yourself with, you can use this type of magic that works to transform your personality and how you perceive the world. In deciding the colors to use, you need to also consider your own elemental makeup. Most people's personalities have one or two of the 4 elements that are most dominant. Being aware of what elemental colors exist already in your makeup can then help you select which colors to surround yourself with to add them into your vibration thus achieving the personality changes you want. For example, if your makeup is mostly Fire with small amounts of air, water and earth, then you are usually in action, don't spend much time tuning in to your emotions and feelings, and don't usually slow down to think. People may have a hard time communicating with you because you move so fast that you don't even finish your sentences. If you want to use magic that works to slow you down and change to a personality that takes more time to think things through, then you could surround yourself with more white which is the color that affects communication and speaking. You could also add in green which is an Earth color to help ground you.

To help you get started determining which elements make up your personality, here are some characteristics associated with each of the 4 elements. For more detailed information on these traits and to use our Four Element Personality Test to help you determine which elements are predominant in your makeup, check out our Energy Healing for Self and Others ebook.

Air (Clear, White and Sky Blue) – seeing, breathing, speaking, hearing, thinking, memorizing, understanding, mind, teaching, learning, ideas

Fire (Sun Yellow, Yellow Orange, Red Orange, Bright Red, Deep Red and Electric Blue) – power, will, anger, aggression, passion, excitable, frustration, initiative, resentment

Water (Water Blue, Deep Blue and Blue Black) – emotions, intuition, empathy, appreciation, joy, grief, love, harmony, compassion

Earth (Grass Green, Earth Brown and Pure Black) – strength, money, solidity, permanence, loyalty, stubbornness, security, confidence

Now you have some beginning insights in how color can be used magically and give you insights into yourself. Try some of these ideas out for yourself and see how they work for you. Using colors is just one of the very fascinating and easy to use studies in the world of magic that works. Enjoy!

Tarot Meanings: The Magician versus the High Priestess

Whatever way you use Tarot cards, you have to have some knowledge and experience of the tarot meanings for each card. People often ask us what the difference is in the tarot meanings of the Magician card and the High Priestess card. This is a good question as both can represent a magical person. But there subtle differences and knowing the tarot meanings of each card can help you select which one is appropriate to use as a signifier in a reading or how to interpret it in a spread or just as a card individually selected from the stack. You can find full details of the tarot meanings of all the cards in our Tarot homestudy course, but here are a few differences in The Magician card and the High Priestess card to consider and get you started.

The Magician
This card is all about high level magic of the "hard magic" variety as opposed to "soft magic" which is more of the psychic or intuitive type. It would be used in the case of a person who has mastered the four elements and is able to control them by intellect and will. This is a person who practices magic and magical spells and knows the procedures well enough that he is able to produce results over and over again. If The Magician or Magi card turns up in a spread or reading, it could indicate that a spell has been done or needs to be done. That spell could even be one that has followed a person from a past lifetime. If the card shows up in a reading in a Reverse position in the past or present line, then it usually does mean there has been spell work done against them or that some inappropriate use of magic has come into play. The Magi card also carries tarot meanings for anything dealing with intentional miracle working or deliberate creation, working with magical tools, magical groups, teaching or studying magic and synchronicity.

High Priestess
The tarot meanings carried by this card can refer to a female magician or her use of magic. But it is also a women's power card and deals with intuition and religion. This card refers to subjects more on an emotional level than an intellectual level and deals more with issues of "soft magic" whereas the Magi is more appropriate for "hard magic". Other tarot meanings carried by the High Priestess card include religious social values or scripting as in the case of a religious "do-gooder" or people who pray for others without being asked for help or permission. It can be used as a signifier for a person adept in magic, especially a female, like The Magician card, depending on the person, the type of magic they practice and the skill level they are at. This is a card that would be more appropriate to use for a person coming from a religious base (whatever religion that may be) rather than from ritual magic training. It can also indicate, like the Magi, that spellwork has been done or needs to be done and can be used as a substitute for the Magi card if it is already being used in the reading in another position.

Summary
Now that you have an idea of what each card's tarot meanings are, you can see that the Magician card is a bit "higher" in the magical hierarchy. It would be used to indicate a very skilled and more formally trained magical practitioner whereas the High Priestess card is used more for someone operating in the intuitive, religious or psychic realms of magic. Both cards showing up in a reading can indicate that there is spellwork involved, either good or bad, but when the Magician card shows up reversed in the past or present line of a reading, it almost always indicates spellwork done on you or something inappropriate that magic has been used for. To decide which card to use in any given situation or to decipher tarot meanings from either of these cards that show up in a reading, this will give you an idea of the types of situations or people to look for that they could be representing.
